I and my two young children really enjoyed our visits to the commodore for our meals whilst on holiday. Perfectly located for us and a welcoming atmosphere. The food is hot and fresh, the staff are polite and very helpful.

Offering scenic views of the Isle of Purbeck, The Commodore Bournemouth presents an exciting menu of rustic British dishes and fine wines. The venue is a perfect choice for a relaxed meal inside or just a drink while enjoying the water views outdoors.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, the Commodore menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at The Commodore pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

Pokesdown Rail Station is a 5-minute drive from The Commodore.

What great value this place is!
We often go there when we don't fancy cooking at home, and when we have visitors. There's a choice of eating in the bar or in the resataurant- same menu, same price! All meals are around a tenner ( or they have the £4.99 option for a snack).
Staff are friendly, helpful, and the service is prompt. Highly recommended (especially the fish n chips!)
