Led by Head Chef Thomas Hine, formerly of the Michael Caines restaurant at ABode, The Coach House by Michael Caines is an award-winning restaurant located in the stunning grounds of Kentisbury Grange Hotel. All dishes are created from scratch by the talented kitchen team, who were hand-picked by Michelin star chef Michael Caines himself.

With a passion for fresh, local produce, Tom and Michael have designed the fantastic menu to be a true celebration of the best of what Devon and the South West have to offer, featuring bold flavours and impeccable presentation.

Kentisbury Grange Hotel blends modern glamour with country charm and the onsite restaurant does not disappoint, with cobalt-blue crushed velvet upholstery, slate floors and a large marble bar.

Just a short drive away from Coach House by Michael Caines in Devon are the stunning, dune-lined beaches of Saunton Sands & Ilfracombe. Kentisbury Grange Hotel is the perfect base from which to explore the delights of the region.

Loved all the food we had (three courses).
Compact yet extremely tasty. Wonderful combination of ingredients.

We took some new friends to The Coach House at Kentisbury Grange for lunch yesterday and they absolutely loved it. The food was exquisite - full of flavour and beautifully presented - and the service and the surroundings matched it. Why this place hasn't got Michelin stars, I will never know...

An excellent experience as always; the service was efficient without being intrusive, the atmosphere and surroundings were spacious and attractive. The grounds and views are delightful being in the heart of the Devon countryside. The menus are imaginative and the 2 or 3 course prices are good value for money. The food is full of a variety of complementary flavours, giving small surprises with every mouthful; the presentation is pleasing to the eye (think Masterchef) and choices are interesting and intriguing. The scallop starter was delicious, as was the sea bream main course and the pistachio panacotta with strawberry cream and lemon curd. The coffee is to our taste too, not too strong and comes in a cafetiere for 2 with sensible medium sized cups. One of our party of four could have eaten more, but for three of us the quantities were just right. Unusually the Exmoor rump was more chewy than expected but to compensate we were given complementary petit fours after the meal so we left happy.

We had a really enjoyable meal with great service in a lovely atmosphere. Only criticism my main dishcould have been warmer.

Everything was perfect we had a wonderful evening. It started with a very warm greeting, followed by Aperitifs upstairs in a relaxing ambience. All our orders were taken promptly. Throughout the service was first class, friendly and courteous. I can't single out any of the dishes, all were perfect. We all enjoyed the complementary amuse - bouche pea and ham soup with deep fried quails end with soft yoke - very yummy.
The restaurant has a very laid back inviting atmosphere, but this takes nothing away, and really enhances the overall experience.
Finally, considering this is fine dining, the cost, like the experience is pleasant and relaxing,
