Very impressed with staff, location and food.
Both my wife and I had ordered the scallops to start, not realising that they would be served raw. My wife had her stater replaced as she was not keen to eat raw fish, and we were not charged for an extra starter. The meal was outstanding, and the staff were helpful, charming and attentive. Highly reccomended.

Visited for dinner Friday 14th with friends from Essex. All 4 of us loved it. A pleasure to be able to take friends to such a great experience so close to home.
4 x Venison particularly enjoyed by all.
Looking forward to next visit late November

This was as good as ever. The bread rolls tempt me even though I don't normally eat bread. My OH does not really like either venison or peanut butter. He chose both! And pronounced them fantastic ( and his soup). I had the salmon then venison and then chocolate...blissful. And then a special plate to celebrate our anniversary. Your staff are truly brilliant and so well trained. It was a special special occasion for us .Thank you so much.

    Everything was excellent.

Starter of red mullet was excellent followed by Exmoor Venison - Cooke to perfection. Carafe of house wine is good value.

An enjoyable evening. Staff friendly and attentive. Food quality good, though sirloin steak a bit on the tough side. The ambiance of the room could have been enhanced by the place being warmer, coming in from the outside the restaurant felt very cool and we had to request that the window be closed

We visited yesterday for the second time and were equally as impressed as we were on our first visit. We had the three course Sunday lunch which we all felt was good value. I started with the crab ravioli and then had the turbot followed by the passion fruit parfait - all were excellent however the crab ravioli was divine ! Two other members of our party had the pheasant and the partridge which were also superb.
If we lived nearer we would frequent this restaurant regularly

Our family and their friends recommended you as they have been several times. We had friends to stay and find it hard to find anywhere really good to eat in North Devon. We had a lovely meal and will certainly come again. Our friend said she had had one of the best Kir Royale's she had ever tasted!
