We had an afternoon tea in the city Hilton garden cafe. The outdoor space is lovely, staff were very welcoming and accommodating, the afternoon tea was very fresh and delishious. It was well presented, there is nothing we could fault. Enjoyed it thoroughly, I'd done here again.

City Café Bristol serves a considered menu against a backdrop of stylish artwork and smooth jazz. Tucked inside The Hilton Garden Hotel, the terrace at City Café offers fantastic al fresco dining looking out over the beautiful Temple Gardens.

From the refined City Café menu, lighter options are offset by rich main courses. From the garden dishes, beetroot carpaccio and lemon and sage risotto offer palate-cleansing flavours. For heartier choices, sizzling cuts from the grill and braised lamb shepherd’s pie are resounding favourites. An eclectic market selection also offers locally sourced treats.

City Café presents a sophisticated selection of vintage wines and champagnes, as well as bold new world choices. A delicate selection of finger sandwiches, fresh scones and aromatic teas makes for a tempting afternoon tea selection.

Featuring wall-to-ceiling windows, City CaféBristol combines a superb menu with inviting, contemporary surroundings. Bristol Temple Meads Rail Station is a 9-minute walk away.

Food took too long to come out. Lunchtime dining should be quicker

Very disappointing, not the standard we would expect from a hilton. The service was poor, people who arrived after us were served their food (which was the same as ours) at least 10 mins before us. The food was low standard, carrot cake undercooked and inedible, the sandwiches poor, whute sliced bread filled with more sauce than processed meat. The mulled wine was undrinkable, it tasted old and as though it had been stewing for days. There was often no member of staff in the restaurant for long periods of time so couldn't even send it back. Even the case the afternoon tea came in was odd and not the classic afternoon tea stand we were expecting. All in all very disappointed with a special treat we had been looking forward to mainly due to the poor customer service.

For price compared to Valerie patisserie - Valerie is much better and the food at Valerie nicer. The brownie was dry and the sandwiches quite plain compared to Valerie pesterir so in future would use Valerie instead

we enjoyed the winter warmer tea with mulled wine, there were 8 of us, there was lots to eat and we were all full, we had mulled wine, warm fruit scones, jam and cream, turkey and cranberry sandwiches, beef sandwiches, ham and pickle sandwiches, mince pies, carrot cake ( instead of stollen) tea and coffee. The service was excellent, this is the second time I have visited this restaurant this year, I would come back again.

We used a half price voucher for afternoon tea. For £9.50 each there was plenty of food, and even enough to take home. Very clean, relaxing and great service with friendly staff. Allowed unlimited hot water, and extra tea and condiments.

Definitely recommend a thing to do with 2-4 people. And with the voucher it's definetely worth it.
