The service was slow, we got the starters way before we got the first drinks

Food was cold, I could tell my meal had been heated up quickly because it was warm on the outside and cold in the middle. Portion size was really small. I got a chicken fajita (3 fajitas) a lemonade and a side of beans. No chips and it came to £22. I really like Mexican food so was disappointed as I could make something tasty at home using those wrap kits.

We regularly eat here and just lately (regrettably) have varying experiences. Tonight was not one of the best. The person who saw us to a table was not interested in us at all. The place was 80% empty and when we asked if we could sit somewhere else we got "take it or leave it" attitude. We paid to have extra chilli beef on our Nachos and got what can only be described as a speck of crusty brown sauce so had to ask for more (which was delicious when it finally came!). Service was very slow, we had a variety of servers two of which tried to take our drinks order. The food was fine - one of the kids meals very clearly had a slice of cheese put on top at the last minute which had barely melted. Not my best dining experience, which is a shame as we love this place for a family meal. The only time we ever get proper service lately is if we get Jade as our waitress - so if you are going, ask to be looked after by Jade!

We dine here a lot. Tonight was poor by their standards. The sharing nachos with chilli had about two spots of dried up chilli - 3 times had to ask for more chilli and there was hardly any cheese - more like a dry bowl of tortilla chips. Usually one of my favourite dishes. Service was a bit slow, though to be fair it was very busy. Hopefully just a one-off off night.

    Food was excellent
    Very well presented food
    And very tasty
    Piping hot.
Restaurant was very clean and tidy.
Sadly the same cannot be said for the service.
Having ordered two main meals, no starters no special requests, why on earth did I have to wait 40 minutes to get our food ?
Shame really as I would recommend this place to anyone based on the quality of the food.
But will have to give this a serious consideration before visiting again.

Very good service, with a large range of food choices. There was plenty of seating space for 7 of us, and I love their menu and will dine there again. One blip, chilli con carne ordered for our 11 year old grand-daughter was far too hot and she couldn't eat it, and we never thought to ask for a milder version, as being a child's menu we thought that milder versions would be accommodated for children. We did not put a complaint in though as it was just an unforeseen blip. On the whole a great service and super food.

I really enjoyed the food and the setting, the staff were polite and friendly... if a little slow!

Food great, restaurant overall felt a little short of staff to provide usual quality of service. We always have the sharing nachos to start - they are never the same twice but tonight were excellent. I had fiery chilli chicken - which was indeed fiery but the portion size of chicken was tiny with the plate filled up with more tortilla chips. The rest of our food was all very good. I always struggle with drinks at Chiquito - if you don't want to drink alcohol, the range of drinks leads you to a £4 Agua Fresca which is all ice and tiny for the price. Overall, a good place to eat out which our children love - the children's menus deserve a mention as they are both good quality & good value.

Good food and service. Was able to use a free meal voucher & NUS card which reduced the bill by £25 good value. No draught beers available due to cellar problem bottled beer & cocktails a little expensive but the voucher & NUS card balanced this out. Will definitely be returning.
