I was very impressed that the restaurant was able to cook something that was not officially on the menu for me due to my current dietary requirements, I did pre-book Salmon and it was delicious so thank you

Housed in the Chichester Festival Theatre, Minerva Bar & Grill serves modern British cuisine using seasonal, local produce. The Minerva Lounge and Brasserie offer drinks and light bites for pre and post-performance refreshment.

Start with Brighton blue cheese, fig, radicchio, and chicory salad with hazelnut dressing, or smoked mackerel mousse with horseradish crème fraiche and focaccia thins. Mains on the Minerva menu include slow-cooked shoulder of pork with mustard sauce, and Sussex beetroot tatin with goats’ cheese. Lighter options include a Mediterranean meze sharing platter, quiche of the day and a British cheese board.

Desserts at The Minerva Bar & Grill also feature local produce and include Sussex summer berry mess and steamed vanilla sponge with sticky bourbon sauce. Local beers and an extensive drinks list including English sparkling wine are also available.

Open to theatregoers and the general public alike, The Minerva at Chichester Festival Theatre is a short walk from the city centre and a 7-minute drive from Chichester Train Station.

Service was good, food was fine. We'd been moved from the upstairs to the downstairs dining, but still had sufficient choice of meals. I had (unwisely) not told the restaurant of food intolerances as usually I can find something on the menu which is ok: that was not the case in this instance but I have been advised that I can give details prior to the next visit and they will be catered for.
I'm ashamed to say we accidentally left without paying, heading hurriedly off to the theatre. When I rang to apologise and pay the following day, the service I received was excellent.

    Efficient service and speedy
Lacklustre food, stupidly oversized plates in which cutlery slid into food.
Fish cakes lacking texture and seasoning, vegetable curry sloppy, badly presented and uninspiring, grilled chicken well cooked but why are sauces charged as an extra.

The Grill is a nice casual place to eat. It is a bit expensive for what we received. The grilled chicken was small with just some watercress small tomato, mushroom and small fries £13 Iwould price at maximum £11. I ordered a salad with it for £3. Making £16 then the sauce was an extra £1.50. So £17.50 in all was not worth it. Not many diners for a Friday. The menu is limited for a regular visit.

Very good. The starters and desserts were excellent but we were a little bit disappointed with the main courses. The setting was lovely and it was nice to eat in the theatre.

Prompt, efficient and friendly service meant our meal before an early performance was neither rushed nor pressured. Menu selection was good and the bean soup and smoked mackerel with beetroot were great starters. We both then enjoyed the Asian salmon followed by an excellent and generous cheese board with coffees to follow.

It's always a pleasure to be at the Chichester Festival Theatre restaurant. Wonderful setting, the anticipation not just for the meal, but the entertainment to follow. And it seldom disappoints - in either respects.

Very friendly and helpful staff who reseated us in a quieter area due to my hearing problem. Food was quickly served and tasted delicious. We both had the steak. Did need additional potatoes. The deserts were equally tasty. Very polite and attentive service.

Slow service ruined experience, children had to miss dessert because of this in spite of what seemed to be large no of staff.
Meal adequate but not good value. My curry only luke warm. Was given discount which was appreciated
