Housed in the Chichester Festival Theatre, Minerva Bar & Grill serves modern British cuisine using seasonal, local produce. The Minerva Lounge and Brasserie offer drinks and light bites for pre and post-performance refreshment.

Start with Brighton blue cheese, fig, radicchio, and chicory salad with hazelnut dressing, or smoked mackerel mousse with horseradish crème fraiche and focaccia thins. Mains on the Minerva menu include slow-cooked shoulder of pork with mustard sauce, and Sussex beetroot tatin with goats’ cheese. Lighter options include a Mediterranean meze sharing platter, quiche of the day and a British cheese board.

Desserts at The Minerva Bar & Grill also feature local produce and include Sussex summer berry mess and steamed vanilla sponge with sticky bourbon sauce. Local beers and an extensive drinks list including English sparkling wine are also available.

Open to theatregoers and the general public alike, The Minerva at Chichester Festival Theatre is a short walk from the city centre and a 7-minute drive from Chichester Train Station.

The service is very good and the young waiters are always friendly and helpful.
The food however was disappointing particularly the mackerel starter. Although customers have to keep an eye on the time the food tastes as if it has been prepared and cooked well in advance.
    There is room for improvement.

We normally eat at the Brasserie before going to the Theatre. I was slightly disappointed this time round. Whilst the service was up to its usual excellent standard, the food, particularly the main courses were quite bland. My husband had the chicken and I had the salmon with a coconut curry sauce. The starter was very good (terrine) but it would have been nice to have had the bread we ordered before the starters arrived.

The service, convenience, and cleanliness of the restaurant were excellent. However while we found the menu choices good the food was average at best

We enjoyed the food but found the restaurant quite noisy and were highly amused to be offered our dessert before the main course!! Ha ha. Just as well we brought our sense of humor with us. Some tables are very close together, might be a privacy issue for some.

Thoroughly enjoyed by a four generation party, great grandmother, grandmother, daughter and grand daughter. Choices suitable for all. Grand daughter treated appropriately as a young adult. She loved the children's menu especially the crudite and the fruit kebab. She enjoyed her sausages and mash but the main courses were less imaginative. It would have been easy to have included a child's version of the roast turkey breast and given her more vegetables.
