We've been several times to this restaurant. The food is excellent, especially the Chateaubriand. On this occasion, there did not appear to be a cohesive approach to the process of looking after diners. The front of house staff did not appear to liaise very well with the waitresses and the barman failed to pass a message on to the waitress. Finally, my wife ordered a Americano coffee. What she got was a 'dockers mug' full of what appeared to be a very weak instant coffee - a lady on the next table was served similarly with her coffee. I don't believe that the MUG or the Contents were appropriate to the restaurant - I'm sure that if Marco Pierre White knew what was happening, he would be appalled. In defence of the staff, they offered to replace the coffee, which we declined, and so the item was removed from the bill - but, lets face it, it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

I thought the restaurant was brilliant. The servers were very attentive and the food was absolutely to die for.

I had salmon which was served on a bed of risotto, it was very filling but delicious. My partner had a ribeye steak. It was honestly the nicest steak I've ever tried.

Being very picky - it would've been good if the bread basket came with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and the butter was served room temperature instead of cold (easier to spread). Other than that we couldn't fault the food at all.

    We will most likely return.

Despite the name, I doubt there is much about this restaurant Marco would want to put his name too. Frankly a disappointing meal. Husbands T bone steak over cooked, triple cooked chips raw and chocolate brownie warmed by microwave with pre scooped/ re frozen ice cream. This not what we expected from a flagship restaurant with price tag to match. The steak burger I had was ok but nothing special and the service was not consistent from being ignored at the start - waiting 15 mins before being offered a drink to having your water glass re filled every sip! We did raise our issues with the food and the only response the from the staff was thank you. No offer to remove it from the bill or option to replace it which is the reason we asked for the service charge to be removed. The decor is lovely however the tables need replacing as I saw 2 people asked to be moved due to wobberly tables, which was done yet the next dinners in were sat at the same table and promptly asked to be moved. Not an issue if it was full but there wasn't many people in as we were there at 6:30pm. This lack of common sense and lack of quality would not encourage me to eat here again. This is only going to become worse when the hotel closes their restaurant in May for refurbishment so all meals will be in the steakhouse. Marco stick to stockpots because this is just not worth the damage to your reputation.

Was disappointed with the food- lacked flavour and under seasoned. My husbands starter was a plate of pastry with very little filling .

both me and my partner arrived at our booking and was half an hour early but our table was ready so we sat down straight away, expected somebody to offer to take my coat but they didn't but not to fussed has I put it on the back of my chair, our table was lovely with a view out the window overlooking the fountain. we both had three courses each I had fish cakes, and my partner had the squid both starters arrived piping hot and tasted lovely, then mains arrived my partner tried the kiev which he enjoyed, and I had the steak cooked medium, my steak was cooked to perfection just how I expected it to be, then for deserts I had toffee pudding and my partner had a desert but cannot remember what he chose has I was to busy enjoying my desert... lol, great overall experience and the food was delicious would definitely be booking to go back has it was definitely worth every penny, the young guy we had as our waiter was great on the ball with everything he updated us through out, about how long our drinks were going to be to seeing if we needed anything else, he did a fantastic job shame we cannot remember his name.
