One of very few restaurants who offer private dining rooms at no extra charge. The staff have always been helpful and charming, the food good, and the house wine excellent. It is a great find and good value for the centre of London,

Underneath Charing Cross Station, Champagne Charlies is a Davy's traditional ale and port house, featuring an expansive cellar of Davy’s own label house wines and champagne. Cosy and rustic, Champagne Charlies Charing Cross features sawdust covered floors, candlelit tables and intimate alcoves.

In true Olde Worlde style, Davy's Old Wallop real ale is served in pewter tankards or copper jugs. Decanted daily, vintage ports are available by the glass or bottle. The Champagne Charlies dining room serves up hearty British fare and chargrilled dishes, and there is a relaxed bar menu with hot or cold dishes available throughout the day.

Traditional favourites on the Champagne Charlies menu include Gressingham duck breast with creamed leeks, bangers and mash with red wine gravy or poached salmon with hollandaise sauce and minted greens. British artisan cheeses accompany English puddings like treacle tart and custard.

Just off Villiers Street, Champagne Charlies London is found in The Arches shopping centre, near Trafalgar Square.

Very good service and tasty food for starters and main course. Deserts and cheese not so good, unfortunately. But would go there again for ore-theatre dinner.

Very nice the service was very good but could do a bit better on the price of drinks.

I found this restaurant online, I picked it as it looked a lovely quiet restaurant also there was a review about someone who went and had dietary requirements and had no problems there, as one of my friends also has dietary requirements it seemed ideal, we weren't disappointed!! The staff were fantastic, nothing was a hassle for them, food was gorgeous to eat, wine went down so well, the restaurant was a lovely old style. We were also surprised at the bill, it costed us £40 each to have two bottles of sparkling wine and two course meal.

The service was excellent. The food and drink excellent. My husband had the lamb cutlets and I had the Chef's special chicken - both were delicious. We would definitely return and recommend to friends.

Good location by Charing Cross and Embankment stations. Also for Trafalgar Square and major art galleries. Although in a basement the atmosphere is pleasant and the staff polite and attentive. Food is fairly simple 'English' in character, but is very well cooked and presented. Wines most acceptable. I give it 7-8 out of 10!

Food, Service and Wine - fantastic. Add to that the brilliant atmosphere and decor and you have all you need for a business meal / meeting, social or romantic.
Highly recommend this place. It was not my first visit and I will definitely be back again.

Had smoked salmon for appetizer and sirloin steak with mushroom whiskey sauce for main entree. The salmon was the absolute best smoked salmon I have ever tried and I loved the mushroom whiskey sauce so much I dipped my chips in it. Very excellent dining experience

The food was good although the wine arrived late, the G&T was flat and the hot chocolates were not very hot. Overall a slightly better than average experience.
