Very disappointing cream tea experience last week. Overall the service was slow, no green tea ( apparently), selection of sandwich fillings was disappointing & bread was hard ( definitely not fresh bread)
Little cakes that were left over I asked waitress to put them in little box for us later n she wrapped them in tin foil!! Hence within minutes of leaving Cerise to return to our room the cakes were all crushed, icing had stuck to foil n generally they were a mess!
A very disappointing cream tea experience. Hence would never return there again. Shame as was so looking forward to our little girly treat as went with my 13 year old daughter. Not worth the £49 I paid. Asked reception staff at Hotel for manager of Cerise to call me (I was promised a phone call) but never received one.

We felt the quality of food really poor. Food that was served wasn't hot. Limited fixed price menu wasn't what we expected.
Staff and bar staff really great, Bar staff made the night with their cocktail making. Restaurant was a real let down. Wouldn't go again to eat but would stop their ffor drinks

The afternoon tea was lovely, the sandwiches really nice but it was a bit expensive for what we got. I feel that we should have had two glasses of champagne for the cost, and more tea. It was very noisy in the restaurant did not feel totally relaxed

Arriving at the bar before dinner, we had cocktails - which were good. The table - booked for 2 - was in the main part of the restaurant, but sadly this meant we were directly in line with the back door to the garden area. Every time people from the bar or restaurant went outside to smoke (which was seemingly all of the time) we were subjected to a draft blowing through the room. Even when the door was shut, it was chilly in this area.

The service was very mixed. The waiting staff very inconsistent, with the waiter serving the wine attentive and giving good advice (although seemed only to agree with our choices rather than offering alternative options) to others serving across people (slack service) and generally slow. We arrived at our table at 8.45, starters served fine at 9.15 but then took another hour for mains to arrive, when they did turn up they were almost launched at us with a curt 'sorry its taken a while'.

We did return to the bar area after the meal for a final drink - however as this was then close to 12.30 we didnt stay.

Generally the restaurant was disappointing, the bar was better - but wont be rushing back to either.
