I took my mum there for her 70th birthday where we were greeted straight away and served promptly.
We had afternoon tea and the food was exceptional and well worth the money , the staff were also accommodating by serving my mum a few chocolates and strawberries on a plate with happy birthday written in chocolate.
This is the second time I have visited and will certainly be back to try the dinners.

Sadly disappointed. For the price you expect top service. Had the taster menu, each course was not introduced as to what it was, seemed a bit rushed (even though reasturant was empty), duck was quite tough, food was okay I guess.... ambience was lacking. High hopes; but let down sadly.

Cerise is a very elegant restaurant and bar and decorated tastefully. Crisp white table cloths in the dinning room and general feel of luxury. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, asking about allergies as some of the afternoon tea cakes contained nuts. We opted for the Champagne afternoon tea, which is £35pp. We each had a lovely cold glass of Laurent-Perrier and opted to have our teas afterwards. The menu of a variety of teas, Jasmine Mao Feng, Earl Grey and Blue flowers, Darjeeling First Flush, plenty lovely infusions to chose from. The sandwiches were tasty, unfortunately the outside of the sandwiches were a little dry which was a shame. The honey glazed Wiltshire ham filling was delicious as well as the salmon and cream cheese.

Scones were light, hot, and just divine, served with clotted cream and strawberry jam. The cakes were a treat, carrot cake, lemon tart, macaroons, chocolate tart all a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. Unfortunately we couldn't finish everything, as we had to hurry to catch a train, I didn't ask if we could box the remaining cakes to take home.

Cerise is a very nice restaurant. I've been there many times. Last night the service was extremely slow and you could have soled your shoe with the duck breast. It was that tough. They deducted the price of the duck from the bill - which was second prize. But we would rather have had good quality duck!
