Fantastic food and great service from Gary. My husband is a chef and said his rare steak was cooked to perfection and was good quality meat. I had poached eggs which were also cooked perfectly.

I booked this as a treat for myself and my friend with an offer of 30% off the bill. We ordered the slow cooked shin of beef. We had a table booked for one and our order was placed by ten past. We had a glass of wine each. The restaurant wasn't very busy so we were surprised that we had to chase up our food order as we only had an hour for lunch. The waiter chased it up first and then he sent the manager into the kitchen. Our meals arrived at 1.45 and we more or less had to throw them down due to lack of time. The food was delicious but the portion was very small. A man would need a side serving of potato or some sort of carbohydrate. I was then surprised to receive a bill for over thirty pound, the discount only off the food but this wasn't highlighted in your offer. There are many places to eat around this area that offer value for money and efficient service, bearing in mind most people do only have an hour for lunch.

Liz and I meet once a month for lunch, my daughter recommended Castle street townhouse. We had a lovely experience, sat in a booth, food was amazing, and our waiter was very attentive and was really good at recommending dishes. I will definitely be going back and recommending to others 10/10

Excellent food - better than I anticipated. Different type to other restaurants around - bit more sophisticated and better appearance. Could do with a few starters on the menu for those wanting a longer lunchtime experience.

On entering, was shown to our table by a very pleasant, friendly member of staff. Nice dining area away from bar. Staff helpful explaining menu. Food delicious.

Food was ok and the service was generally very good although we were asked to vacate the table and move to a seating area, this wasn't a problem but we noticed that the table we had vacated remained empty for at least a further hour.

Visited Castle st town house on Saturday night with some friends we were greeted by a lovely young lady Sophie who escorted us to our seats and she introduced us to our waiter Nathan. we had the 'small plates' menu. We all chose two dishes each the food was top class so good we each had another small plate each. The scotch eggs wow! Never thought I would use the word wow! When talking about a scotch egg. The belly pork with chorizo was amazing it melted in the mouth. The staff were very knowledgeable about the food n drink and were so friendly. Both Nathan and Sophie looked after us right through the evening, they recommended some deserts which were so good. I had the Char grilled pineapple with coconut ice cream superb. Priced just right and a layed back ambience was a real pleasurable night. Like it so much that I Went back there for breakfast. Just one thing that let's it down is.. the small plate menus are just pieces of white A4 paper in no folder, a small detail but first impressions set the tone but everything else just spot on. Well done!!
