Best restaurant I have been to as a veggie. Informal and friendly but absolutely brilliant food at every stage. Every last thing down to the coffee was unique and special. One of the few upper end restaurants I have been to where I came away feeling it was worth every penny.

Awarded a Michelin star in 2015, Carters of Moseley Birmingham has received widespread critical acclaim for its fresh and innovative food. Focusing on light, healthy cooking, seasonal ingredients are brought to life in creative British dishes.
The Carters of Moseley menu is packed with fresh ingredients from local suppliers. Simple but full of flavour and exquisitely presented, dishes include chestnut broth with pheasant dumpling and Wiltshire truffle, Cornish monkfish with leek, white onion and chicken juices, and beef cheek with cauliflower and ale. As well as a classic cheese board, the intriguing warm apple cake with Jersey cream and duck fat caramel is amongst the dessert options.
The restaurant’s interior is simple but sophisticated. Wooden flooring is joined by white walls and leather seating, with modern prints adding a contemporary flourish to the dining room.
In the Moseley area of the city, Carters of Moseley is just a 15-minute drive from Birmingham city centre.

A really friendly, professional team, flawless food and a thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by our whole party. Loved being able to see into the kitchen and every course was delicious!

We have frequented Carters of Moseley for a few years now and can say that Brad Carter is truly deserving of his Michelin star. He has an amazing grasp of flavour, offering what I would argue, is the most unique dining experience of the city's Michelin star restaurants. Fresh Bread with flour from local Sarehole mill and pork butter and chicken liver cereal are staples that I am glad to see remain on the menu. Who would have thought that cheesecake with something as savoury as truffle would work so well! It really plays with your mind but is such a clever combination. Every effort is made to seek the best local ingredients. We were glad to see the addition of pour over coffee - no more espresso based coffees. My partner has long extolled the virtues of pour over and has researched the best method to obtain a great coffee (yes, a little obsessive!) he was impressed that it was served in exactly the same way as he made it at home and thought the Ethiopian blend was delicious. I love the new chocolate ganache - I really enjoyed the chocolate bars but I think this is even better. Holly is so welcoming, and makes every effort to remember her customers - I genuinely don't know how she does it. We also appreciated the happy birthday message (thank you, it was very kind!)

We had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch, well served and delicious tasting menu well described to us. The only minus was that having been consulted about dietary requirements and having said 1 person was diabetic, the final desert course and little chocolate treat at the end were not suitable and contained sugar. Either fresh fruit or sugar free would have been a better alternative given notice was given.

Dining here on Friday evening was an oasis of calm. It was a very relaxing experience and, though the food was amazing and the service very attentive, nothing was pretentious. We felt as though we had been on holiday and come back again in the space of a few hours!

Took my boyfriend for dinner for his birthday. We had the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairing. It was amazing. The staff really went the extra mile to make the whole experience special and personal. The wine pairings were lovely and we enjoyed trying different wines. We've had a few wine pairings at different restaurants but this was the best. The duck was beautiful. Overall a brilliant experience. Could not recommend it enough. We hope to go back very soon.
