Service was as always very friendly and helpful. Steak Frite was perfectly cooked so was the duck and the beef bourguignon dessert for the ones who had it delicious cannot fault any of it.

With outside seating and a private garden, this Café Rouge French restaurant is set in the market place of the characteristic town of Wokingham.

As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as deep-fried camembert, baguettes, steak frites and mussels. There are also lighter dishes if you don't have much time to spare. The set menus for lunch and dinner (on certain days) are excellent value for money. There is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

With easy access from the main roads and train station, Café Rouge Wokingham is a convenient restaurant in which to enjoy affordable French cuisine.

No real atmosphere, they at least needed some music playing. It also felt like a production line and the staff were very standoffish.

The food was lovely however the service was extremely slow which wasn't ideal with children. We arrived at 12.00 and left close to 3. One family had to leave early as food took too long to arrive! This meant I child didn't get main course and one no dessert. 2 adults felt service was so slow they didn't even order! Apologies were given when we mentioned it but communication could have been better.

The restaurant is lovely and clean. The kitchen catered very well for gluten free diners. I had the fish stew which was lovely and my husband had the fish and chips which was huge. Atmosphere was good and we could hear each other talk. And lovely Naz was there with another lovely waitress whose name I cannot recall.

Nice atmosphere but service was rather slow and my salad was definitely past its best!

Like the setting & ambiance although a bit draughty where we were sat. I always have the duck dish, as I love it, but this time decided to have the salmon for a change. I was a little disappointed as felt the overall taste was a bit bland. My husband enjoyed the Boeugh Bourgurgnon which was very tasty, might try that next time! Waiters attentive & service efficient. Relaxed atmosphere

Disappointed. Table booked early evening. Almost empty. Yet delivery of food took a very long time. Guests had to remind waiters about side salad, not once but twice. I had Eton Mess for dessert. One of my favourites. Desserts took ages to arrive. Eton Mess seemed to be made from a cheap fruit yoghurt (watery ) with blueberries. Really disappointing.

Staff were friendly and efficient, and the Rouge Burgers were tasty and nicely presented.
I did feel a bit chilly sitting by the window although there was no obvious draught.
The glass of champagne for "mums" was a lovely touch and I really appreciated that!
