An elegant façade invites you into Southgate Café Rouge where an authentic French feel complements the French cuisine. There is a sleek glazed wooden finish inside, and outdoor seating for al fresco dining.

As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

Offering tasty bistro-style cuisine, this charming eatery in London is a popular choice for French dining.

We booked at table at cafe rouge Southgate (cannon Hill). We were greated by a waitress who was very rude no smiles all night. I had a booking as I said and when I arrived she had no idea what I was doing there as and she frowned when I said my name looked confused as if to say what? You booked? Why? As opposed to fantastic ill go check where your table is. Honestly she was gastly, facial expressions very negative and body language?? Oh dear negativity all round!
After this she showed us our table and a couple of minutes later she came back and said "what would you like to order to drink?" My mother and I were shocked... how rude she could of said excuse me... are you ready... I mean after all we had just arrived 3 minutes earlier I still hadent taken my coat off. Anyway we proceeded the food was lovely but service was poor, throughout the night we could hear the waitress's way of speaking to other tables just like they were speaking to us and to add to that the way they looked back at you if you caught their eye by accident...oh dear! For cafe rouge standards the service was poor. When I asked for the bill the waitress leaned on the sofa as if she was waiting for a bus!!!. However my mother and I consider ourselfs ladies so we left them all a tip in the hope they may save it for staff training on how to deal with costumers... A smile goes a long way...
I will return to cafe rouge but not this particular one. Bad service!

I dined at lunchtime on a Sunday. The restaurant was busy but we were served with drinks quickly. Unfortunately the meal was slow but the staff were friendly.

I often go to Cafe Rouge - primarily because you can use your [...] Vouchers there. A £10 [...] cashback voucher becomes £30 at Cafe Rouge. The vouchers are for food only - not alcoholic drink. We like the ambiance - always pleasant and friendly, a goodly choice of food on the menu and nice french-style decor. The Southgate Cafe Rouge is also close to Broomfield Park, where you can go after your meal to work off some of the calories.
