Café Rouge Solihull offers lovers of French cuisine a cosy dining experience. Within walking distance of local shops and a 5-minute walk from the cinema, Café Rouge boasts an al fresco area to enjoy in the warmer months.

As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

Near Birmingham, Café Rouge Solihull offers a tasty menu at affordable prices, in a picturesque spot on the High Street.

Service was good, food was good, mussels were mainly empty on my order but I was given fresh meal but unfortunately this came after my party had eaten. We had set menu which we had to ask for but it was great value. Setting was lovely and generally nice meal out. Helena was our server and was very good . We would go again

Very crowded but service was relatively quick apart from having to be asked twice to get water. Mussels disappointing as some empty shells, pork good.

The open fire as you walk in is really beautiful. My favourite drink is French garden fizz. I love French onion soup, the chicken with chips, the cute small saucepan with the glaze is a real treat. Tatin ice cream is a lovely. The whole experience from start to finish is first class.

I'm a regular diner in Cafe Rouge Solihull. I saved up my Tesco points to get vouchers to treat my family to a Christmas mesl on 3rd December when my sun was visiting with his family from the South Coast. When we were seated I told the waitress that I had Clubcard vouchers. We were given a festive menu and requested a main menu too. The meal and service were excellent and we had a lovely dinner. When the bill arrived I was told that I couldn't use my vouchers on the festive menu. The waitress apologised and said she hadn't realised that this was the case. I said that I didn't want to pay £70 because I had vouchers and that is why we had chosen to come here to dinner. The manager came over to explain the situation, this was unecessary as I fully understood the situation - I was just not happy with it. I requested that we be charged main menu prices for the festive menu so that I could use the vouchers. Manager went away and returned again to explain - condescending - poor staff training!! Eventually after 15 embarrassing minutes with other diners looking over, the matter was resolved. Good food - bad management from Cafe Rouge Solihull on this occasion - disappointed

I have eaten at this restaurant several times before and have always been pleased with the quality of the food and the service.
However at this booking I had to "argue" with the member of staff who seated us that there was a £25, three course set menu with a glass of bubbles. Thwe had ey were insistent the only set menu was the two courses for £12.95.
Once we had established there was another menu the service was incredibly slow. Our table was booked for 7.15 and our food order was not taken for half an hour.
The food was good (as it always has been) but the meal took over 3 hours in total which my friends an I thought was exceptionally long given the restaurant was not full.
When the bill came we had been overcharged by £3.00 (not much, but not the point). I then had another "argument" about this and had to use the calculator on my phone to prove this to the staff.
I had arranged the meal and three of my frinds had not eaten at cafe rouge before so it was not a good first impression although they agreed the food was good.
I consider myself to be reasonable and easy going and was embarrassed to have to debate the menu and the bill.
While I will probably still use cafe rouge for breakfast or lunch, I'm not sure I will book for dinner again.
