An authentic Parisian bistro, Café Rouge Newbury serves contemporary French cuisine. Showcasing a chic bar and al fresco dining, Café Rouge also features an array of Parisian inspired artwork.

As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge in Newbury. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

In the historic town of Newbury, Café Rouge in Berkshire is just a 3-minute drive from Newbury Rail Station. Victoria Park is a 10-minute walk away.

Took a party of 11 after the Pantomime and everyone agreed superb. Ages ranged from 2 to 68. Kids ate all their 3 courses. Great menu choice.

I have been to several Cafe Rouge restuarants in the South and this one is my favourite thats why i have eaten here many times. It has a nice atmosphere, its so convenient for parking and the staff are always so friendly. I exchange my Tesco vouchers for Cafe Rouge and use them when i have a girly shopping day but its great value anyway and the food is always of a high quality and generous portions. The Lobster Bisque is amazing!

Starter & dessert very nice, main course seemed to be warmed up & not freshly prepared & parsnips were very tough, was disappointing.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meals with great service from staff. Only negative point - rather chilly in restaurant - maybe because it was early evening ??

I was extremely disappointed with my visit to Café Rouge. The restaurant is not welcoming, more suited to a shop than a place to eat. The food was quite substandard, I had the RISOTTO AUX CHAMPIGNONS, a bowl of overcooked rice with button mushrooms covered with far to much crème fraiche not a sign of the oyster, chestnut and cèpe mushrooms as per the menu and the crème fraiche was flavourless. My partner had the Rouge Burger which he said was dry and unremarkable, he had enjoyed better at MacDonald's! Added to this the fact that the waitress was quite pushy regarding larger drinks, sides etc the whole experience is one I do not want to repeat. It is a shame because I have eaten at Café Rouge in both Bristol and Bath and found both to be lovely with good food and discreet staff. I will not be returning to afe Rouge Newbury

Very good indeed. Friendly and efficient staff, delicious food, good wine and excellent company (we provided this last thing ourselves!!). Enjoyed it and will be returning.
