All enjoyed, food was sufficient, more pate than bread roll tho, had to order more bread rolls. It was good
Steak medium rare, excellent.
All in all good experience

After a long shopping session, Café Rouge Milton Keynes Shopping Centre is a welcoming place to enjoy fine French dishes in relaxed surroundings.

As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

Café Rouge also has delicious desserts that complement an authentic French meal. Xscape Centre in Milton Keynes is within easy reach.

Greeted by a very affable member of the staff and shown to our table. He always gave courteous service throughout our visit. Attention has to be on the door area as members of the public kept leaving it open and at night it can be very drafty for diners seated near the doors. Perhaps a self closing system should be addressed.
The food was well presented and all members of my party enjoyed their choices, I could not understand why we only received 3 pieces of bread with a very small dish of selected olives when there were 4 people in the party and it worked out at 2 olives and a pickled gherkin each overall and the requirement for one of our party to share a piece of bread between them. We found this rather strange when compared with other restaurants who actually provide individual dishes of olives with portions of bread for each diner.
As this was a festive meal booking perhaps next year extra choices on the menu would be nice as we felt when making the booking that it was a bit limiting but we were willing to give Cafe Rouge a try to see what the cuisine on offer was like.
Overall we enjoyed our visit to this location and would wish you to pass on our thanks to the staff including those often forgotten members of the team who operate behind closed doors in the kitchen area.

Original service was very good. But after starter had arrived we waited ages for our main course people sitting near us who sat down after us received starters and main course while we were waiting. Only after we enquired where our food was did it appear. I ordered the sea bass but it came out overdone a total disappointment. Rest of the order was ok. They were busy but this is no excuse.

Friendly, modern, french style decor. Staff welcoming with helpful conversation. Food: Sea bass beautifully cooked, & Lamb shank, tender and falling from the bone. Red wine, Bourdeau lovely. Price commensurate with food quality. Excellent value, particularly with a voucher!

Very disappointed as I had book for a surprise for my husband so we could eat before we went to see Star Wars.
we were told that they weren't taking any more customers as they only had two chefs and when I said we had a booking we were told we could still have our table but it would at least and hour before we would have our order taken. We had the cinema booked for 6.40pm so this was unexceptable.
we then had a problem finding somewhere else to eat.
what should have been a lovely end to our Christmas break turn in to a bit of a let down.
This was to be our first visit to café rouge. So very disappointed.

Given round table in corner of the restaurant so was 'out of the way' and in 'perfect position'. Joanna our waitress was very attentive but not pushy. She was excellent. Food and drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. An all round excellent lunch.
