We had lunch here due to a small celebration for my daughter's birthday. The staff were fabulous and really looked after the girls. In particular, Tarik, Sophie and Ben. Food was lovely as always. The girls had an area to themselves which was ideal.

Housed on the 1st floor of the Manchester Trafford Centre, Café Rouge offers authentic French cuisine. A traditional faux façade overlooks the courtyard dining area looking out on to the domed food court.

As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

Served by fantastic bus links and with ample free parking, Café Rouge within the Trafford Centre is the perfect place to dine between shops.

Nicely prepared food and an excellent waiter. We don't remember his name, but he only works the occasional weekend and he left after serving us to go to a cheese and wine event in Manchester.

I had soup starter which was Luke warm but otherwise very good. I should have asked for it to be reheated but we had waited around twenty minutes for it so didn't bother, my fault. The restaurant wasn't busy so not sure why it took so long.
my partner had the pate, he said was delicious.
For main my partner had steak with fries and enjoyed them, my salad with bits of goats cheese scattered on top was very disappointing, I had expected a full warm goats cheese.
my fault again as the waitress when I told her asked if I'd like something else but I said it was ok then wished I had.
the house wine, white, was quite good.

Limited choice from the menu at 20.30hrs on a Sunday evening,my party picked 3 different options only to be told none was left.I had the same issues at Cafe rouge centre parcs Penrith. Restaurant very quiet although the waiter was pleasant .

Good food and friendly service. We liked the mini-dessert with coffee option.

Experience generally fine. Starter - my wife and I shared goats Cheese salad (Large) but we were not particularly impressed as it wasn't as good as previous salads we have had in this same restaurant. Ivy just seemed to have too much lettuce. I think this is a result of your menue changing.
We ordered 2 fillet steaks and had to send my wife's back as it looked very dry as if it had been waiting under heated lamps for some time. As it was our 35th wedding anniversary and we wanted to eat together I sent mine back as well. We also sent the green beans back as they were cold
We were given 2 new steaks which were both very good and new green beans.
And sorry about this but my melt in the middle chocolate dessert was over cooked (microwaved) as it didn't melt in the middle but the ice cream saved it.
The waitress took our wine off the final bill, which we didn't ask for and thought this was a nice gesture.. ( she didn't know it was our anniversary and we didn't yell her.
On the whole it was a nice evening and didn't spoil our event

Unfortunately Trafford Centre Cafe Rouge seemed to be having a bad night on Saturday 21st November, 2015.

The waitress was fine, and we were served quickly with drinks, and reasonably quickly with garlic bread. However, we arrived at 5.45pm, expecting to have ample time for shopping in the Trafford Centre until 9pm, but there was a one hour delay before we received our main course. The waitress did apologise and, unasked, had already spoken to the Manager about how long we were waiting, and offered us compensation of free drinks or free dessert, which we were grateful to accept. When the food finally arrived one meal was good, but my own was very overcooked and very dry. I was very disappointed with both the wait, and the incredibly poor standard of cuisine which I certainly did not expect from this company.

Our meal was paid for by Tesco vouchers, and although we had not spent the full amount, we just wanted to leave after having been in the restaurant so unexpectedly long, and anyway, had no confidence that any other food would be worth waiting for any longer.

We pre booked and were given a booth at the front which was pleasant. On ordering we were informed the restaurant had run out of steak, they only had the minute steak left, it was only 6.30pm so that was a bit disappointing. The service was good but slow and the restaurant was less than 50% full. Food wise the kids ate of the kids menu, that was good value and no complaints other than the fries were overcooked to the point of being crisps, same unfortunately with my burger fries. It was just ok, first visit and don't know whether it would entice us back!

Very poor service, lots of staff and only a few tables with customers so no excuse. Staff had clearly not been trained properly. Food was average. Eg. Not clearing starters away before serve main course. Giving me a knife and fork for mussels. Good job I had a 25% discount card because it would have been an expensive experience. I really like Cafe Rouge and am booked to go for Christmas Day with my family of 9. I'm just glad it's not at Trafford.
