With a realistic Parisian atmosphere, Café Rouge Loughton serves an authentic menu of French dishes. Enjoy the French cuisine in the al fresco dining area or in the private garden.

As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

With its red exterior setting it apart from nearby shops, Café Rouge – Loughton is an 8-minute walk from Loughton Tube Station.

We enjoyed our evening to celebrate birthdays but not enough staff so service very slow. Need to change menu more often.

We dined at lunch time, very good menu choices. Our server was excellent and allowed us plenty of time to decide which dishes we would choose. The volume of noise from other diners is increased by the high ceilings and this can make conversation difficult. The meal was very pleasant.

Great catch up lunch with a friend who also enjoys Café Rouge restaurants but hadn't visited Loughton before. He felt that it compares very well with other locations, a sentiment I share. We enjoy the fishcake and duck dishes and our favourite desserts of fondant au chocolat and the banana crepe. I was able to use my Gourmet Society card which helped towards the bill. There is a very good team working in this branch + duty manager. It is a popular and often busy restaurant but the staff always manage to be friendly and professional.

Lovely restaurant with good food and service. There is a really nice ambience to the place, nice lighting and seating. A good place to take your time and enjoy.

We had a lovely experience. Can't wait to go back. The Camembert was delicious with currant sauce, the duck was cooked to perfection and the desserts were yummy with all the different ice-creams. The kids enjoyed their food and their milkshakes and their crepes for dessert. One had ice cream with popping candy and was just giggling all the way through her dessert. We will come again soon.
