In the city's buzzing and vibrant Brindleyplace, Café Rouge offers traditional French cuisine in a delightful French setting. Complete with large al fresco dining area overlooking the river, Café Rouge Birmingham boasts a menu for all occasions.

An authentic French feel greets diners as they enjoy a range of French dishes at Café Rouge. As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

Surrounded by hotels, Café Rouge Brindleyplace is within walking distance of the Crescent Theatre, Highlight Comedy and a variety of galleries.

On arrival (21.10) I said to what appeared to me the manager I had a voucher on my phone do you want to see it, ' no ' . After sitting down for twenty minutes our waitress took our drinks order, got the drinks ten minutes later when I ordered some bread etc because I could see a pattern forming. Took our food order, around 21.50 I noticed the manager was leaving for home, would've thought he'd see our starters' out at least ? Anyway everything just took longer than it should've . The atmosphere from the staff wasn't buzzing to say the least.
On paying the bill I repeated what was said when I 1st arrived regarding the voucher, the waitress said I needed the promotion code which I can fully understand but why wasn't it taken when I offered it on arriving like it states in the t's & c's ? by this time my phone died so couldn't retrieve the code.

Great experience, good food, good wine, quick, professional service, great menu, extremely reasonable food prices, particularly on the set menu we had, wine per bottle not so reasonable, but did not detract from the overall visit, particularly bearing in mind how reasonable the food was.

We eat here frequently and it is a pleasurable experience most of the time. Just two things about this last visit need commenting on. Firstly, we were informed that about five or six items were off the menu and this impacted on what we wanted. One or even two items we can adjust to but too many things were missing. Also we asked for the fixed menu as well but it never materialised and this is the second time this has happened. We booked through bookatable and I requested the prix fixe menu. I had a 50% voucher so we used that on the main menu, but it would be nice to have the option to choose from both.
My friend felt that the non alcoholic cocktail was a rather small measure as well.

Very pleasant ambiance and friendly service. Favourite dish was Croquettes au Legumes. Gorgeous.

Good food and service with unusually attractive vegetarian options (a little slow but at the tail end of the festive period....). Took a party of 6 for a birthday treat and was concerned there were no Moules as billed or alternative fish dishes. However, A bottle of Prosecco on the house was very acceptable consolation.
House red very light and low in alcohol which was daring and to be commended.

Had a New Year's Day lunch here with my partner. Food and service both very good. Located next to the canal, which was handy for walking off the meal

Decided to dine at Café Rouge because of a offer of 2 courses for £12. 95 , the only thing was the offer menu was not included with the collection of Menu and wine lists handed to us on arrival . Asked twice for offer menu which did eventually arrive at the table.
Good value for money, apart from the drinks large glass of Merlot £6.00.
Steak was well cooked asked for rare it was perfect.

11 of us dined. Starters were fine but 2 meals arrived only when queried and when everyone else had almost finished and 1 meal arrived with chips instead of the salad ordered. Having said that all food was fine.

We have visited three times in the last three weeks. On each visit we found the staff courteous, friendly, and very helpful. My wife and I are slowly going through the menu and we have found every dish we have tried to be well - cooked and very tasty. Personally I like the French Onion Soup, Selection of bread, and for mains the Fishcake dish.

The location is excellent for visiting the theatres, Broad Street, Sea Life Centre and is close to the car parks.
