Afternoon tea was lovely, and a great variation on the classic tea, fab to sit under the statue of Vulcan and our waiter was very attentive.

Inside the iconic Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Café Modern Two is a stylish eatery that boasts period features, mirrored ceilings, and even sculptures from the gallery itself. Wholesome lunches and traditional afternoon teas are paired with a carefully crafted wine list.

The Café Modern Two menu focuses on wholesome, flavourful European recipes for its lunch menus. Fresh focaccia sandwiches are generously filled, while mains include lightly chargrilled salmon with fresh greens. Warming soups are popular choices, and antipasti platters of cured meats and delicate cheeses are perfect for groups to share.

Afternoon teas at Café Modern Two in Edinburgh are wonderfully traditional, and include warm scones with jam and clotted cream, loose leaf teas, fingers sandwiches, and sweet treats like mini redcurrant and almond cakes.

A tranquil, stylish spot to refuel whilst browsing the galleries, Café Modern Two is moments from the Water of Leith, and only 15 minutes' walk from Haymarket Train Station.

Very good. The food was lovely, plenty of choice for meat eaters and vegetarians. The Cullen Skink was gorgeous! Not too rich, with well balanced flavours, and served piping hot.. The Cafe is spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly.. I loved the water jugs on the table. None of us drink, so this was a lovely touch! Other restaurants please take note!

Very nice surroundings and good service. It was quite busy as a popular exhibition was in its last week. An item we would have liked had run out. Always an annoying occurance in a restaurant.
Also thinking back after we had left we realised we had probably been overcharged. We had ordered a sandwich which on the menu said you could have soup with it as a nominal extra. We now realise we had been charged the full amount for the soup which added considerable extra to the bill but perhaps considering how busy it was on that day my friend and I shouldn't have been chatting so much and we would have noticed the overcharging.

Excellent table ready would not been able to sit together if we had not booked. Also would quite a wait too very busy. Time was important for us. Enjoyed it very much.

Excellent afternoon tea. Started with savoury scone then the cake stand appeared with sandwiches and lots of different cakes and there was a separate plate of large scones with jam and cream. Good selection of tea or coffee and more was brought when required.

Very busy eating place due to the current exhibition's popularity. I am a frequent visitor so booked prior to arriving as I knew it would be busy and needed to be in at 1pm and out by 2pm. Lunches we had were very good from the menu as we have had previously although the chicken wrap was missing from the choices today. Excellent on this side of Mod 2 but also there is usually slightly more range available at Mod 1. Service as always was impeccable being attentive, fast, efficient but friendly although incredibly busy. Book to avoid waiting in a queue if you have a limited time scale.

The menu was fairly restricted and the risotto was not available which was a surprise given that presumably it is made fresh. We did enjoy the food we had and the service was friendly, efficient and attentive. Virtually all of the soft drinks on the menu were laden with sugar. Some healthier soft drinks would have been ideal as an alternative to plain water.
