Housed in a converted 2-storey Victorian warehouse in the trendy suburb of Totterdown, Byzantium is a modern restaurant with old-world Mediterranean décor, serving British cuisine with a European twist. Moroccan lanterns throw starry-light patterns onto the walls & Greek busts adorn niches in the laid-back dining lounge on the ground floor, while a well-stocked bar serves a selection of classic & quirky cocktails.
Specialities on the Byzantium menu include smoked pork croquettes with cauliflower puree & crispy bacon, charred lamb steak with root veg mash & a balsamic & mint reduction, and goat cheese tart tatin with pepperonata & rocket salad. Satisfy your sweet tooth with an indulgent banoffee meringue, or lime jelly with vodka cream.
All this is served in the elegant Byzantium restaurant, where fairy lights wind around structural columns & a large wrought-iron chandelier fills the room with golden light. The walls are decorated with pieces by local artists.
A stone’s throw away from the riverbank, Byzantium in Bristol is an 8-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads Rail Station.
