Had a wonderful experience! The tea was terrific! Loved my Dragon Tea! And the service was unparalleled, with special mention for Willy Wonka! My daughter had a great birthday! So many lovely little touches, including a tiny pink welcome drink and goody bags for the kids. Thank you!

Within the grand surroundings of the Chesterfield Hotel, Butler’s Restaurant in Mayfair offers quintessentially British dining. This opulent dining room is as popular with local residents as it is with hotel guests, offering a warm and intimate atmosphere in the heart of London’s most exclusive district, just 6 minutes' walk from Green Park Tube Station.

Famed for serving the best Dover sole in London, Aberdeen Angus steaks also feature on the Butler’s grill menu. Herb crusted loin of lamb and Gloucester Old Spot pork belly make decadent mains, while a different roast is served up daily from the Butler’s carving trolley.

Influences from around the UK are found on the Butler’s menu, from Morecambe Bay potted shrimps to Colchester crab cakes. Recognising the British love of comfort food, Butler’s serves warm English apple tart with ice cream, and steamed pear and ginger pudding and custard for dessert.

Never underestimating the importance of good wine, you can taste a selection of the Butler’s sommelier’s choices – or yours – in the ‘Flight of Wine’. In the heart of chic Mayfair, Butler’s Restaurant in London also offers an ever-popular pre-theatre menu: perfect for those pushed for time before the curtain goes up.

We had afternoon tea and it was excellent. The staff couldn't have been more attentive. We aim to go again in the New Year.

Looked a bit tired in the conservatory and considering it was their Christmas high tea (we ordered the champagne one as a birthday treat) there was nothing particularly festive about the place. Mulled wine was cold, the sandwiches were tasty but a couple were a bit dried out and whilst the younger contingent had top ups we were not given the same service.

Service was great, continuous topping up of tea and was asked to let them know if wanted refills of sandwiches and cakes. Our waiter was friendly and polite. The restaurant was lovely, felt very relaxed and welcoming.

There was 8 of us for a birthday celebration for afternoon tea. At 1330 on Sunday Nov 27th 2016. Arrived at this beautiful hotel which was dressed for the festive period to have the lovely doorman welcome us with a smile. Although we were early for our booked afternoon tea we were shown into the bar, made welcome by the barman who took our order.
The bar was warm and beautifully presented, clean and comfortable.
The afternoon tea was a festive theme everything was delicately presented and explained in detail. It all tasted so exquisite ! There was a good selection of teas, most of us had the festive chocolate tea which was delightful !
The waiters and waitresses and I think the supervisor or manager all repeatedly checked on us to ensure we had what we needed. Nothing was too much trouble !
The conservatory area is well lit and was not cold, it is hard to believe that your in a hotel with small quaint street lamps and plenty of plants it has a summer sunny afternoon atmosphere.
Our favourite bites were the chocolate scones and the salted caramel tart - amazing !

We have all had a few afternoon teas in London now and we all agreed it was one of the best ! Next time in London it will definitely be a return trip - can't wait for the amazing Charlie and the chocolate factory afternoon tea - which we were informed returns on the 2nd of January - although i would recommend not waiting that long to try the delights of the Chesterfield !
Unable to recall the names of the staff but huge thankyou to all of you who made the afternoon so very special.

The other five ladies, that attended the afternoon tea I booked, all had a wonderful experience, including me. Jim (?) our waiter was great and made us feel very welcome and nice. He had great customer relation, humor and took very well care of us!

I took my three young grandchildren for afternoon tea and they were absolutely thrilled. Needless to say we have pictures taken with Mr Wonka and an amazing selection of delicacies. The highlight for one little one was that Mr Wonka had clearly shared the fact that we were celebrating her 6th birthday. A cake with candle were duly produced and the waiting staff sang happy birthday - she was then given a flower which she cherishes. Thank you to all staff and we will certainly be telling our friends.
