Set within the elegant Hilton Bristol hotel, Brunel’s Hat offers classic and contemporary British cuisine. As well as paying homage to Britain’s most famous engineer, the decor features a replica of London Olympic flame, and cosy green velvet booths.

The assorted Brunel’s Hat menu showcases well-executed, locally sourced ingredients, evident in dishes such as Wiltshire rosary goat’s cheese, beetroot and rocket salad and honey and pepper-marinated duck breast. Chef’s choice of round steak of Scottish salmon fillet and chicken Wellington with pâté and mushroom stuffing are other popular dishes.

The grill selection presents an 8oz gammon steak, Bolton Abbey lamb rump, sirloin or rib-eye steaks served with a choice of sauces. Indulgent desserts at Brunel's Hat in Bristol include strawberry Eton mess and chef’s choice of steamed chocolate pudding.

Close to the Bristol City Centre, Brunel's Hat @ Hilton Bristol is within a 5-minute drive from Bristol Filton Airport and The Bristol Golf Course.

Took 35 minutes for afternoon tea to arrive despite it being pre-booked. As this is all cold food with a lot of it pre-made, there is no reason for it to take this long. Once arrived, the food was lovely.

Didn't like the fact that there was a wedding party going on at the same time. I should have been told as my 84 year old mother does not enjoy the noise of large crowds. I felt the waitress did her best to cope but poor mum first had no milk then discovered she had the wrong tea. What was suppose to be a lovely reunion with my sister from America with her, my mum and myself, turned out to be a bit of a fiasco really. Not as enjoyable as it could have been. The food provided was all very enjoyable.

I booked afternoon tea for my father's 90th birthday. All the staff were very polite and helpful nothing to much trouble. Hotel very clean. The actual tea was very good overall but felt that it would have been better if you were given a choice of sandwich fillings (my father is very much a plain eater). Cakes were yummy!!!

It was amazing. Was treated like a celebritie. Food was lovely. Champagne was bubbly and I had green tea with fresh lemon. My partner has a cappuccino. It was so relaxing I will definitely be coming back.

Lovely restaurant which was surprisingly empty considering the time of year. Possibly road closure in the area has affected business?
Menu prices quite reasonable considering the standard of food and presentation.
Very good food (the lamb rump and braised beef were very tender, tasty and nicely presented) and excellent service. Unfortunately, the lamb meal served was not hot.
This was replaced, not charged for and a free glass of wine provided.
The standard of food and service means I will definitely go there again.
