With spectacular views of historic Windsor Castle and the River Thames Browns Windsor offers a refined yet relaxed dining spot, at any time of the day. Blending European brasserie dishes and timelessly elegant surroundings, Browns Bar and Brasserie Windsor champions an informal yet refined concept. The spacious brasserie boasts a mezzanine and an outdoor balcony for al fresco dining.

Renowned for indulgent twists on classic comfort food recipes, Browns has offered trademark favourites since 1973. Spanning from breakfast through to lunch and dinner, the Browns menu offers all-day brasserie dining. Indulgent plats du jour and Sunday roasts are staple favourites, while sumptuous European flavours include lobster tagliatelle, the wild boar & chorizo burger, or steak pie with buttered mash and broad beans. A sophisticated children’s menu at Browns offers tempting favourites with a grown-up twist.

Showcasing a penchant for cocktails, the Browns bar offers an array of classic mixes, signature concoctions and thirst-quenching mocktails, as well as fine world wines, smoothies and creamy milkshakes. Enjoy Browns’ afternoon tea and cake accompanied freshly-roasted coffee from an independent supplier, or a warming pot of loose leaf tea.

Browns Bar and Brasserie - Windsor is a 3-minute walk from Windsor & Eton Central Rail Station. Legoland is just a 10-minute drive away.

Our experience of browns was awful. I made the booking, the booking was on their system. They were so busy, they were initially unsure whether they would have space to seat us. Menus arrived, ordered afternoon tea for two . The tea arrived after 20mins, the waitress set the table. One of the plates had a squashed fly one, she just wiped it off like we hadn't seen. It then took a further 1 hr for the afternoon tea to arrive, by which point we had run out of tea. Even if we hadn't run out of tea it would have been long cold.

Browns is very nice. Quite busy on the weekends which means slower service. Food does not disappoint. This time we enjoyed Fish Pie, Lobster Risotto and a pork belly roast. All delicious and nicely presented. Gluten free menu available. Staff very friendly. Make sure you book ahead as it is also popular with tourists so it gets quite filled up fast.

We all enjoyed our meal but my 11 year old son's short rib portion had hardly any meat on it. I ended up giving him most of the duck from my salad. My husband ordered me a glass of Sauvignon blanc and I was shocked it cost almost £10. We're used to paying £7-8. The waitress was nice and friendly. We haven't been to Browns for quite a while and I feel that the outside toilet doors could do with a paint, inside toilet doors could do with a dust and windows needed a clean, especially as it's such a great view of the Thames and ideal for watching the world go by.

Browns in Windsor was attentive and welcoming. We opted for set early evening menu whilst significantly reduced in size yet still has a good variety available for everybody. All meals were cooked as you would expect, unfortunately I had made the wrong choice and was unable to complete the meal - I have to add no fault of Browns.
However, our waiter offered me an alternate choice but by this time my partner had finished his meal, we made no fuss as this was my error but we were pleasantly surprised on settling the bill that they had not charged us for the main meal, a lovely and honourable touch - thank you Browns of Windsor.

Not great, too few staff on a very busy day, very very slow service - took ages for 3 soft drinks, food was ok though. But just too busy, too many people drinking in the food area - lots of chairs and tables to try to get around.
Restaurant itself wasn't very clean, furniture is old and tatty and all very sticky - toilets were awful - dirty - the whole place is in need of some cleaning and some tlc

Overall it was an OK experience. The food was of a good standard, although not very imaginative. The air conditioning was really cold and we all had to wear jumpers - the outside temperature was 25 degrees. The draught Doom Bar beer I ordered arrived warm and cloudy, so I asked the waitress to replace it. I was told that would be the best I could get and I explained that the beer needed to be pulled through until it improved, but she disagreed this would be any better. After that she offered me a bottle beer that was fine. The waitress did serve us quickly and politely, but it wasn't a memorable visit.
