We were promptly sat, food was delicious and service was ok for a browns. Live pianist featured the night we dined too.

Our table overlooked the river very pleasant. Quite a while before a waiter came to ask us if we would like a drink.Incidentaly nobody visible to greet us and show us to the table In general the service was poor no interaction with the waiter, however the food was good and all four of us enjoyed the meal..

Great location, friendly waitress. Went with my mum as a special treat as i was visiting 'back home'. Booked online and had an offer giving 25% off the food bill. Saw it was 'lobster Thursday '. Sat outside overlooking the river - lovely location and not bothered by seagulls that seem to plague my hometown of Bristol.

The avocado and crab stack was bulked out with a layer of potato which did nothing to aid the blandness of the whole starter. We ordered lobster given we had the offer on food. Mum opted for champagne thermidor and i chose the whole grilled lobster with garlic butter for me. 'Good choices, you'll enjoy these' said the waitress.

The food took a long time to arrive. Both lobsters were very tough and rubbery! I thought thermidor was chopped, mixed with sauce and grilled but the tail was whole, and my mum struggled to cut hers, let alone chew it. Mine was covered in slivers of raw garlic which weren't as tasty as I'd hoped. Based on this experience is wouldn't eat lobster again! The claws were tender but the tail took a LOT of chewing.

We did feed this back to the waitress. She was very lovely and we were given free puddings with a slightly confusing explanation about them being killed at breakfast time. I think. Or how they're delivered in the morning and can't live in a fridge very long. English wasn't her first language. They tasted fresh, it was the toughness that was a problem.

The puddings were excellent, I had the bitter chocolate brownie which was rich and not too sweet and offset by some lovely malty ice cream. The apple cherry and almond pudding was also lovely.

Bristol Browns is a lovely restaurant. Great building, location and food has always been great there. In Kingston the food was less great. Shame. We'll try a different place along the river next time.

Table wasn't ready but we were shown to a table where we could wait. The waiter was harassed and lacked a sense of occasion - we were there for champagne tea to celebrate my daughter's new job.

We were given breakfast tea before we had a chance to ask for Earl Grey. We had to ask for hot water. No top up was offered.

The tea was beautifully presented however and very tasty. Lovely view of the river. I thought it was very
good value for money. The service was a disappointment

As always Dinner and server were fabulous unfortunately we were drowned out by the piano playing near to our table. This was a family meal, celebrating a birthday and a graduation, and as much as we love listening to music especially the piano the evening was spoilt as we had to raise our voices around the table to enable us to hear each other. We were reluctant to complain but finally decided to ask for another table .. Unfortunately our waitress was unable to find one big enough for 5.

We were shown to our table and given a menu but that was it. We gave up after 15 minutes waiting without even being asked if we'd like a drink, let alone receiving a drink. There were plenty of staff buzzing around setting up tables etc. But they didn't seem at all interested in serving customers.

Very disappointing and probably won't go back again.

Totally amazing surf and turf dinner for two with fantastic steak, half a lobster and the world's best chips. Also incredibly good value. Our bill with a great bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon came to less than £70.

Came for the afternoon tea which was a bit of a let down as the tea was tasteless/?dry, the scones were small and looked like the product of a primary school cooking lesson. Not impressed with the brioche sandwiches either, the filling was not enough to allow you to get a tAste out of them.
Saying all these I don't want to sound All negative. The service was good and the price is relatively less than anywhere else in the area. But maybe the price should go up as well as the quality if to attract people back again.

Disappointed I had booked afternoon tea for a friends birthday
The bread for the sandwich's was a little dry and there was very little egg In the egg mayo.
The little cakes were lovely the red velvet was one of the best I've ever tasted. The little scones were like bullets and we didn't eat them. The tea and latte were lovely and the service was very good.
Such a shame as I usually have great food at all Browns restaurants. I booked the table through a booking sight and they had clearly made a mistake my first confirmation stated Kingston the following 2 stated Brighton however you manager handled it so well when he couldn't find us on your system he asked to see the conformation, smiled got the menus and took us to a lovely table. I wouldn't go for afternoon tea again such a shame as I go for afternoon tea in lots of amazing places.
