Food was a little slow coming out so we had to skip dessert to make it to the theatre on time but it was very busy for a Wednesday evening....
Food and service were brilliant and lovely location

Situated in the heart of the city, in a converted wing of the old Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Browns Brasserie & Bar Cambridge serves tasty European-inspired dishes and colourful cocktails in a lively atmosphere. Set in a building close to the River Cam gorgeous Virginia creeper frames the entrance, and Browns boasts a terrace for sunny summer dining.

Spanning from breakfast through to lunch and dinner, the Browns menu offers all-day brasserie dining. Indulgent plats du jour and Sunday roasts are staple favourites, while sumptuous European flavours include lobster tagliatelle, the wild boar & chorizo burger, or steak pie with buttered mash and broad beans. A sophisticated children’s menu at Browns offers tempting favourites with a grown-up twist.

Showcasing a penchant for cocktails, the Browns bar offers an array of classic mixes, signature concoctions and thirst-quenching mocktails, as well as fine world wines, smoothies and creamy milkshakes. Enjoy Browns’ afternoon tea and cake accompanied freshly-roasted coffee from an independent supplier, or a warming pot of loose leaf tea.

Browns Brasserie & Bar in Cambridge is just a 15-minute walk from Cambridge Rail Station.

Really good food and pleasant staff. Looking very tired inside but we were told it's closing for refurbishment this week. Looking forward to going back when finished.

The Quality of the food and the service was excellent, Disappointed to find pianist no longer playing on a Saturday night !! also felt a little bit rushed to free the table.
Lovely atmosphere though. All in all a lovely evening

A pleasant evening. The service was, as always, very good and the food was excellent. My steak was cooked just right and my wife enjoyed the sea bass. The one area where Brown's fell down was the cocktail my wife ordered. I have never seen a cosmopolitan served in a champagne glass! It tasted like a drink you would expect at a student two for one deal in a club. Browns needs to sort their cocktails out. Other than that a lovely evening.

Lovely afternoon tea. Great selection of food. Would have been nice to have the tea pot topped up.

    Festive treat

We admit to being quite concerned when we found Browns to be one of the few restaurants to still have space for a lunchtime booking on a day quite near to Christmas

We shouldn't have worried - the restaurant was effectively full and had a great atmosphere and the service was still at just the right pace.

The fillet steak was fantastic and my beef dish (from the Christmas menu) was mount-wateringly lovely.

Absolutely lovely meal, great atmosphere and gorgeous cocktails...although when booking it told me I could dine with 25% off and this didn't come off our bill!
