Close to the River Avon, right in the centre of the city, Browns Brasserie & Bar – Bath serves delicious dishes and colourful cocktails in a lively, friendly atmosphere. Housed in a building which was previously a magistrates’ court and a police station, it boasts entrance doors large enough for a horse-drawn carriage, and a mezzanine floor with gorgeous city views.

Spanning from breakfast through to lunch and dinner, the Browns menu offers all-day brasserie dining. Indulgent plats du jour and Sunday roasts are staple favourites, while sumptuous European flavours include lobster tagliatelle, the wild boar & chorizo burger, or steak pie with buttered mash and broad beans. A sophisticated children’s menu at Browns offers tempting favourites with a grown-up twist.

Showcasing a penchant for cocktails, the Browns bar offers an array of classic mixes, signature concoctions and thirst-quenching mocktails, as well as fine world wines, smoothies and creamy milkshakes. Enjoy Browns’ afternoon tea and cake accompanied freshly-roasted coffee from an independent supplier, or a warming pot of loose leaf tea.

Browns Brasserie & Bar Bath is just a 9-minute walk from Bath Spa Rail Station.

Browns was an emergency booking due to OPA not having our reservation for my daughters hen. We are now very glad we had to re book and dine at Browns, what a fabulous time we had. We had a long table upstairs that we were allowed to decorate prior to the bride to be seeing it. We were on the set menu and Browns changed the complimentary to a glass of wine to prosecco. The service was absolutely fantastic as we ordered a variety of cocktails to the table. We chose a starter and main as our two choices from the set menue and each and every dish was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Browns. I would highly recommend and would definitely visit there again if I return to Bath.

The New Year's Eve menu offered a pretty decent choice although the quality was fair. It was overall ok and the cheese boards received were generous. The atmosphere just seemed fairly flat for NYE and little attempt made to help customers celebrate or feel it was a special evening. Apart from our waitress who was one of the few working cannot say touch about the remainder of staff including the initial manager who gave us an average table despite our request for a nice one to celebrate NYE. Also we were asked to choose again from menu despite previously being contacted to provide our choices in advance by email. something was lost in in communication which was rather frustrating. Would think again about choosing Browns for a celebratory meal.

Service was friendly, well paced and efficient. The venison we had was perfectly cooked. The restaurant was beautifully decorated.

We booked here on the spur of the moment. We weren't disappointed. The food was good and well presented. they ran out of one sweet we ordered, but replaced it with a free alternative , no complaints.
Staff were very knowledgeable, well trained, and attentive.

Met family here for lunch on the 14 October. We all had different dishes and they were able to cater for a family member who is Gluten free.....well done Browns.
Excellent meals, and deserts and we were not rushed at all very happy with the he service, happy smiley waiters and waitresses
The only complaint ...if you can call it that.....was that it was a bit noisy due to a 50th birthday party but it did not spoil the lunch for us ??
