Generally lovely food and lovely setting. Veggie options was noted from website booking notes. Staff seemed a little lacking in focus as we only asked two things, both of which were forgotten and we had to ask again...these were asking for water and asking for a doggie bag, not too major though.
Should have also said that the napkins shed lots of white fluff that stuck on us and others that were sat around us.

It was abysmal! We walked in and we were great very kindly by a happy chap then shown to where we would have it but the other member of staff we met was very unhappy and honestly looked like they didn't want to be there. We sat down in a dirty conservatory Windows, and there was no cost feel, I felt like we were about to sit an exam. The cups were dirty and at a high standard venue such as Marriott we would not expect this! The afternoon tea arrived and it looked pled average on very dated plates which were again dirty. The sandwich were ok but I don't know who has smoked salmon and cucumber, the bread was soggy which I feel meant they had been stood around. The ham was nice. The cakes tasted like they were bought from asda just down the round and looked like they had bought a traybake and just cut it up. There was no contrast or colour. The scone were average but the cream was most certain not clotted, which I would and any would expect with the scone. No one came to ask if we were ok until I visited the facilities and asked for more tea. Which was brought over quite swiftly by a young lady, when another couple sat down they were asked if they wanted any water and the lady dealt with them beautifully. Why did we not get the same treatment when we arrived? Was it nearly the end of his shift? Was he tired? Whatever the reason it was not except able. I was visiting for afternoon tea to get a feel of Marriott as I am currently engaged and looking for a venue. I can tell you it certainly won't be here!

The welcome was warm and friendly. Our server called Dave was fantastic and very attentive to our every need ensuring our glasses or cups were never empty. The food was fresh with a very good selection. If I had one tiny criticism it would be maybe the ratio of savoury to sweet choice. I and the members of my party would have preferred more sandwiches or quiche or crisps and less cake but what we did have was delicious and definitely worth the visit. We will return

The overall experience was pleasant the staff very helpful the only downside I have to say was the food which had been made before time and stored in the fridge, the quality of the sandwiches was not the best and the cakes some were very tasty but others were just bland and didn't really have much about them.

What a letdown, if that's their interpretation of an afternoon tea, it definitely isn't ours. No effort whatsoever was made in presentation & we were asked if we'd like more tea & were charged extra, after paying £29.Must emphasise that the waiter was 1st class & none of it was his fault.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience on Mothers Day. The mothers got complimentary glass of bubbly and some daffodils as well. Service was perfect. The afternoon was perfect.Cakes were delicious. They also assisted with a vegetarian and a Coeliac.
