Set in the 440 acres of the stunning 18th-century Heythrop Park, Brassey Restaurant is an elegant setting for dining throughout the day. European recipes feature throughout the menu, and afternoon tea is served either in the stylish Wedgwood Lounge, or on the al fresco terrace.

The Heythrop Park Brassey menu utilises the finest seasonal ingredients for its beautifully presented dishes. Tender roast loin of pork is delicately seasoned with thyme and pepper, and fresh seafood delicacies include the lightly seared sea bass fillet. The adjoining Brassey Bar features more casual dining, with dishes ranging from BBQ pulled pork, to pizza and fish and chips.

Afternoon tea at Heythrop Park Brassey Restaurant Banbury offers traditional finger sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, as well as a range of international teas. Diners can also slip into the Charlbury Bar for premium spirits, beers and wines.

Expertly blending British tradition with contemporary dining, Heythrop Park Brassey Restaurant is a 13-minute drive from Charlbury Rail Station.

Good food and good service - let down by the manager who had not done his administration correctly! We were in the restaurant for around two hours and signed the bill to charge it to our room. We were exiting the restaurant but were pulled back in as if we were 'doing a runner' without paying the bill and asked if our meal and drinks had been preauthorised - this was in front of several guests at the restaurant- he then made a call and made us wait until reception confirmed everything was OK - we were told that we could leave then ! Absolutely rubbish treatment which could have been checked on by him at any time in the two hours we were there ! If we could have found somewhere else to eat we would have not eaten there again!

Reservation was at 9:30pm, they didnt seat us or 5 other couples for over an hour even though there were clearly open tables just waiting to be cleared. By the time we sat the live band started packeding, and other staff were busy tearing down the tables and decoration. Was a set package, the prosecco was undrinkable, meat was small and half fat. the only good thing was the dessert. I think they anticipated an issue when they brought over the bill, so the bill didnt charge us for the dinner, only our drinks. Good thing they did because this was the only time I have ever considered walking out of a place without paying.

When we arrived and were seated at our table the service was very good. As the evening progressed and the dining room started to empty the service deteriorated. We asked three different waiters for a list of liqueurs and waited over half an hour when we had to ask again only to be told they were setting tables for people who were waiting to come into the restaurant. It was gone 10:00 so we told them to forget the liqueurs as we were leaving. It's a shame we had that experience as the evening on the whole was pleasant. The jazz music was excellent and the food very good. Part of the dining experience is the service one receives.

Food was good and staff friendly however some staff need further training and supervision to improve the service. The service OK but for a restaurant of level better staff training needed.

Food was delicious. Staff very friendly, although possibly checked if we were alright a bit too often!
