The food was delicious and the chef was prepared to cook a dish that wasn't on the menu due to specific dietary requirements. We all enjoyed our meals (veggies and nut allergy between us). The service was outstanding with professional staff with an appropriate sense of humour from start to end. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others. Lovely to eat next to the canal and in close proximity to the city centre, a range of hotels and the gay area of Leeds.

What can I say, from beiginning to end absolute perfection again. This was a special occasion to celebrate my mums special birthday and I had noted this and requested a nice table in front of the window. Unlike many other restaurants where we have noted special requests, these guys did listen and made a lovely Birthday platter for my mum and made her feel special. Now for the food... absolute perfection! We regularly dine at many top Manchester restaurants but this little gem in Leeds takes some beating. The little touches like the personal greeting in the quaint little bar beforehand and the lovely chap who serves the drinks and makes you feel so welcome and valued. The attentive staff checking everything is okay. The nice touch of a bread roll with butter and olive tapenade, this doesn't happen in many restaurants now. Then the salt and pepper king prawns on the specials were huge and very tasty. 3 of us had the cod with pea purée and all agreed this was one of the best fish dishes we had eaten. A huge chunk of perfectly cooked cod served on a pea purée, it was divine. We did order a mix of sides to accompany but really didn't need much as the portions are lovely and generous. Although the chunky chips, rocket and Parmesan salad and green beans with shallots did pair perfectly with our fish dishes. We regurlarly visit Leeds and Brasserie 44 will definitely now be on our list. Fabulous evening and perfect food!

Really enjoyed our whole experience - every member of staff were lovely and very professional. I booked the table as a treat for my husband, Son and myself as our son is at Leeds Uni and we were taking him back after Christmas break. Have passed here many times & very glad we gave it a try. All the food was delicious- thank you.

Excellent food and service. Staff are happy to alter dishes according to how you like it. Slightly difficult access for disabled as there are a few stairs but good handrails.

Nice welcome. Very pleasant dining area. Not an extensive menu but plenty of options to suit most tastes plus a good reasonably priced wine list. Star of the show was the food which was excellent. Very good service with nice pauses between courses.

My wife and I arrived for a pre-theatre dinner. We were greeted by warm and friendly staff, and served refreshing drinks while we waited a few minutes for our table to be prepared. Our table was booked for 6:00pm but our show started at 7:30pm so our meal had to be prepared quickly and we only had time for one course. We dined next to the window overlooking the bridges and waterways outside - a Venice-like experience that added to the romantic mood of the evening. The staff took our need for speed into account and we enjoyed a promptly prepared and efficiently served main dish that was generously portioned, exciting to the senses, tasted fabulous and deeply satisfying. We would not have had room for starters or deserts even if we had the time to enjoy them. Having paid the fairly priced bill, we were set to enjoy our evening entertainment at the Yorkshire Playhouse. The Brasserie Forty 4's location, interior ambience and fantastic food combined to start a magical evening that we will never forget.
