We had afternoon tea at the Compleat Angler. Staff were exceptionally polite and pleasant. The food was scrumptious. Lovely view across the river from the restaurant. All in all a wonderful afternoon was had by all.

We had a fabulous meal at the Macdonald Compleat Angler in Marlow. The food was delicious particularly the Goat's Curd Starter with Beetroot and also the style and presentation of the Smoked Salmon starter. The Rib Eye steak was gorgeous. The restaurant was nice and busy and had a great atmosphere. The service was first class. The setting is so beautiful. You really couldn't ask for a more pretty riverside location. It was extra special as all the Christmas lights had just been put up. Definitely 10 out of 10.

We went for afternoon tea. The service was excellent! It was a little confusing where to go to be seated & pay the bill.
Some of the sandwich bread was a bit hard, the scones were amazing, the lemon cake & macaroon were amazing. All in all a good experience. Location superb!

Lovely setting for afternoon tea overlooking the Thames. We had a lovely afternoon with attentive service. As it was a Saturday we could only book from 16:00 and as we were six and it was for a special occasion we chatted a lot and the time passed quickly. The afternoon ended up being spoiled when the Restaurant Manager asked us to vacate the table at 17:45 stating "according on their website". He could easily have asked us to move to informal seating elsewhere - instead we felt we were being thrown out of the hotel. People should be aware of the time limitation at weekends, as it is not very long if you are in a group in a relaxed atmosphere.

I took my friend for afternoon tea on Sunday to celebrate her birthday. The service was really good, tea was nice, scones and treats were delicious. However the sandwiches had far too much butter in- at first I thought it was a thick layer of cream cheese in the salmon. We asked for another round with less butter but it came out very similar. Such a shame. We really enjoyed the location and the afternoon was a success so I might go again and just have scones.

Slightly overwhelmed going to a "posh" Restaurant, but was made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Afternoon tea was served by very helpful staff, but was slighty spoiled by the mouthy OAP on the next table demanding everything. Well done for the waiting staff who stayed very calm.

A pleasant afternoon tea. Although we were originally due to have tea served in the lounge area, as it was a nice day we sat outside on the balcony overlooking the river. The quality of the food was very good, and the quantity totally satisfactory, even so, we were asked if we wanted any more tea, sandwiches etc. Service was excellent. All in all I thought the cost at £27.50 a head plus service @12.5% represented good value.
