Brilliant setting and extremely good food. I had the lamb with beetroot and it was delicious. Friendly staff especially the restaurant manager.

Really lovely setting, I have loved this place for a long time and had my wedding reception here. Beautifully decorated and very efficient waiting staff. Nice starters and small-pot deserts. Downsides, and I am being totally honest, disabled toilet was dirty, they need a bit of music in the dining room as a bit sterile in atmosphere, the food we had - fish & chips and gnocchi were both very oily.

The staff were very friendly and polite. The Mackerel Pate was very good and tasty, could have had a fraction more in the way of the toasted bread as I like to put the pate on the bread. The Bream main was also very good, the creamed leeks especially flavoursome. My guests both enjoyed the Turkey dish. This is high praise indeed as being both German, they are used to higher general standards of food, and did not have high expectations in the UK.
