Amazing food, gigantic portions ( have to fast before having lunch or dinner here!) and really nice atmosphere. Highly recommended

With the feel of a rustic Italian cottage, Bottega Prelibato is a traditional slice of the Mediterranean in Shoreditch. Freshly-made Italian delicacies are served up, while the art gallery space inside showcases the talents of local artists.

The Bottega Prelibato menu is rich in seasonal Italian recipes made with the finest ingredients sourced from local markets. Beautifully presented starters include courgette flowers filled with anchovies and sun-dried tomatoes, while platters offer up buffalo mozzarella, chilli nduja and mixed vegetables. Sumptuous pasta creations range from black ink scialatielli with crab, scallops and squid, to gnocchi with porcini mushrooms and truffle oil.

Desserts at Bottega Prelibato Shoreditch include traditional tiramisu, as well as homemade pear and chocolate cake. An extensive wine list boasts vintages from across Italy, including dessert wine from Umbria.

A tranquil, traditional example of Italian dining, Bottega Prelibato London is a 5-minute walk from Old Street Tube Station.

So disappointed with our experience at Bottega Prelibato. Having visited a number of times over the past few years, sadly after last night we won't be back. Service is diabolical. Food prices have crept up and it simply doesn't deliver. Whilst food was pleasant enough - plates weren't hot, then not cleared for ages. Not good enough.

Food was great, pasta portion was huge. A smaller size option would be great

The food was great, and tasted nice and authentic, the service was friendly and the sommelier was great.

This is one of our favourite places to eat- usually but seems it has gone downhill. They forgot about us so we didn't get served for about 30 minutes. The music was too loud so you couldn't even talk. The food was pretty bad and greasy and the service was slow and not great. We left without eating a main.

I had gone to Bottega Prelibato before for lunch and found it a good restaurant, with good service, food and wine. However yesterday I went for a special dinner with my partner and things did not go as expected. I ordered aperitifs twice, only to cancel them after the starters and red wine were brought to the table. The second time I asked where the aperitifs were suggesting I wanted them before the food and red wine, the waiter seemed surprised I'd want to drink them while waiting for the food and before the wine! The starter was good but the mains were not worth the price; my pasta was really dry. Such a pity as I used to enjoy food here. Perhaps just a bad night?
