Delicious food but limited choice (not necessarily a bad thing). The dirty chips had no bacon on and they served vanilla ice cream instead of salted caramel with no explanation. Puddings to die for especially the chocolate brownie.

A funky industrial space inside the iconic Barbican Centre, Bonfire specialises in burgers, rotisserie chicken and all manner of U.S. comfort foods. Outside there is a huge terrace space overlooking the mini lake, perfect for an evening cocktail.
The Bonfire menu really packs in a great selection of flame-grilled treats. On the burger side, there is the classic cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce option, or diners can choose patties packed with truffle mayo, BBQ pulled pork and green chillies, or even a vegetarian choice of portobello mushroom, grilled halloumi and smoked paprika. There is spit-roast chicken from the rotisserie, and sides like fries topped with blue cheese.
Desserts at Bonfire restaurant at the Barbican are just as indulgent – there is salted caramel brownie with vanilla bean ice cream, and even gluten-free options like white chocolate cheesecake. On the drink menu, there are rich milkshakes, a choice of craft beers, and cocktails like classic mojitos and negronis.
Bonfire in London is 5 minutes' walk from Barbican Tube Station.

Your staff and chef were exceptionally helpful and friendly, and that is much appreciated.
I hope, however, you will understand my wish to make an important point, which explains why I have given you less than five stars in certain categories. Your menu says that many of your dishes can be prepared gluten-free. To be additionally sure, I included in my online booking that my wife is a coeliac and has an allergy, not an intolerance (which means she is under medical supervision). You acknowledged the booking, but it was not until after our arrival that your chef explained that little - chicken, one kind of bun, a few salads and sweetcorn - was safe because other dishes might be cross-contaminated. My wife was hungry (have nearly fainted, hence our early arrival) and the only sustaining option seemed to be chicken and the bun, since chips and potato were liable to contamination.
I shall add a minor point. To be morally supportive of my wife, who was naturally disappointed, I ordered the same. Looking again at the menu as we left, my wife noticed that buns are normally served with chips. However, I could not see that you waived any part of the cost, though this would have been a nice gesture given that your advertising is misleading, and indeed has mislead. (Your charming waitress asked me if I wanted chips, but, no longer having a menu before me, I assumed this was a suggested extra for me, not part of the normal package.)
I repeat that I appreciated your courtesy and hope that I may come again: the chef said that these problems are to be addressed. (However, your current advertising implies that they have been solved already.)

Food surprisingly good , entrance environment suggested youth club , table tennis etc , did not invite us into very soulless design in restaurant . Could do much better .

OK for what it is - but could be better. Staff doing utmost to deal with pre theatre diners but clearly overworked.
Burgers poor quality and onion rings not a patch on Byrons!!

Their portions are tiny. Decided to have a dessert as we still needed food and we got the smallest amount of pie I've ever seen! We were rushed and had to order quickly as the restaurant was closing. I pointed out their website states a later time, apparently it's out of date information. Not a good experience.

Only decent dish was the Mac and cheese. The burgers were processed, frozen burgers. Bad customer service.

The salads ordered were almost entirely green, with hardly any of the extra items that had been ordered. Served in deep bowls, from which eating was difficult.

Loved it. Enjoyed the food and excellent service.

Had reserved table but wasn't asked for it when I arrived- I had left a note saying that it was a pre theatre booking and I needed to be finished by a certain time.
Not friendly or welcoming.
My husband loved his roast chicken. My Caesar salad - the salmon delicious but the dressing wasn't a proper Caesar dressing.

Very mediocre food. Friendly service and good terrace but food needs a shake up to bring it up to good quality. Very few starters and portion size can be very small. Cocktail had very little alcohol in it! Good choice of beers.
