A funky industrial space inside the iconic Barbican Centre, Bonfire specialises in burgers, rotisserie chicken and all manner of U.S. comfort foods. Outside there is a huge terrace space overlooking the mini lake, perfect for an evening cocktail.

The Bonfire menu really packs in a great selection of flame-grilled treats. On the burger side, there is the classic cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce option, or diners can choose patties packed with truffle mayo, BBQ pulled pork and green chillies, or even a vegetarian choice of portobello mushroom, grilled halloumi and smoked paprika. There is spit-roast chicken from the rotisserie, and sides like fries topped with blue cheese.

Desserts at Bonfire restaurant at the Barbican are just as indulgent – there is salted caramel brownie with vanilla bean ice cream, and even gluten-free options like white chocolate cheesecake. On the drink menu, there are rich milkshakes, a choice of craft beers, and cocktails like classic mojitos and negronis.

Bonfire in London is 5 minutes' walk from Barbican Tube Station.

Well it started out good, greeted straight away, got my message about a comfy table. Service was great and attententive the problem was the burgers. £13 will get you a great burger at Honest burger or Patty n Bun. At the bonfire it got me a burger handmade & cooked by a school dinner lady from the 1980's. It was weird like puréed beef and it was pretty solid after cooking and tasteless. I finished most of it as it was the only thing I had eaten that day apart from breakfast and it was now 7pm.
I wish I hadn't afterwards, it didn't go down well.
Also the bun was stale. I could deal with that but the poor quality of meat not so much. I also had fries and a small salad and they were both great, salad was fresh and the French fries crispy and hot. No complaints there. I think management really need to look at the quality they are providing vs the price. It's not on!
I can get a better burger from Macdonalds!

Very friendly, good value food, great view, concrete! We were a bit delayed but the staff ensured that we got to eat and drink and get to see the performance in time [big thank you]. Last time we came it was very busy; we brought our young people who loved the football table. Great value cocktails before 6pm too!

Food was OK, waitstaff were charming and efficient. Unfortunately the man who was in charge of the till seemed not to know that we were entitled to a discount with my Barbican centre membership, and had to be reminded by one of the waitstaff. It was a pity, because we have just moved in to the Barbican, and were wondering if Bonfire could be our new neighbourhood restaurant.

The smokie burger and chips was amazing - would eat it again!

I was very impressed with my rib burger - especially as it arrived in a brioche bun, and was incredibly tender. Fries were perfectly crisp and not too salted. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The setting was relaxed and inspiring from our window table, and a great way to catch up with an old colleague / friend.
