It’s time to try out (or revisit if you’re already a fan) one of Manchester’s newest restaurants, with our Rosy Lee Star Deal of just £17.95 per person for a three course evening meal. Set in the heart of the Northern Quarter, Rosylee brings together a range of influences to create an atmosphere reminiscent of the great tea rooms of 1950s London – but with a Modern British menu.
The striking black and white interior is light and airy; greenery cascades from the ceiling, with ornate lighting adding an extra touch of opulence, and in the kitchens, you’ll find a Michelin trained team who have worked under Sunday Brunch chef Simon Rimmer.
The Bookatable star deal offers a choice from a well-chosen set menu showcasing popular dishes from the Rosylee range. Whether you’re a light eater or prefer a hearty meal, you’ll find something to suit.
Possible starters include a tasty chicken liver parfait with red onion marmalade, lightly pickled salad, and toasted bloomer; salmon and dill ravioli served on a bed of buttered spinach with creamy pesto sauce and roast confit cherry tomatoes, and, of course, soup of the day – which comes with warm freshly baked baguette and seasoned butter.
Main course options include dishes inspired by international flavours as well as firm British favourites. The menu could include, for example, tender pan-fried chicken breast in Thai coconut sauce and pak choi with a coriander and lime dressing, together with classic fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce. There are also imaginative vegetarian dishes, such as feta, leek and potato parcel with chive crème fraiche, honey roast carrots, and baby silver skins with pea shoot salad.
As you’d expect from a restaurant with a tea room theme, pudding is important at Rosylee. Desserts include chocoholic delights such as rich chocolate and orange pot served with a ginger biscuit; creamy and luxurious Bailey’s crème brûlée with mixed berry compôte and strawberry shortbread, and good old-fashioned comfort food such as sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Alongside your meal, you can sit back and sip a literary-inspired iced tea cocktail – C. S. Forester’s The African Queen, or E.M. Forster’s A Passage to India, perhaps; enjoy a vitamin-boosting fruit juice, or sample one of the well-chosen world wines from the wine list. There are also classic and Prosecco cocktails, a diverse range of coffees, and, of course, some fantastic teas to linger over as you relax after your meal.
Rosylee is in Stevenson Square, 8 minutes’ walk from Piccadilly and just a short stroll from Market Street and the Arndale centre.
The Bookatable Rosylee Star Deal is available from Tues – to Fri until the 25th April. The offer is subject to availability – to make sure you can get a table when you want one, book now.
