Albert Dock

Albert Dock, Liverpool

Home to some of Liverpool’s oldest and most beautiful buildings, host of the 2008 MTV awards and after-party destination of BBC Sports Personality stars, the Albert Docks has it all.

To escape the inner city noise head out of Liverpool and sail up to Albert Docks for a cocktail, some food and not forgetting that all important sea view.

Roasted Mini Bananas with Blueberries and Lemon Sorbet

Gusto’s may be situated at the gateway to The Albert Dock, but this Italian restaurant and bar will transport you all the way to the Mediterranean. The menu is traditional and full of flavour offering everything you’d expect from a Mamma’s kitchen with a glass of Prosecco on the side. Its statement ‘Con Amici’ table is perfect to share with friends seating up to 40 people, so gather up everyone you know and sail off to Sicily!

Spice Lounge

From Italy to India, The Spice Lounge offers authentic Indian food with a Liverpudlian twist. Sample a mix of spices renowned for their health benefitting properties in the heart of Merseyside’s must go districts. Amongst its diners you’ll find golfing professionals, well-known MPs and Liverpool FC star Ryan Babel – from one look at the menu it’s easy to see why. A colourful melody of traditional Indian cuisine creates a picture perfect plate suitable for any curry-loving palette. Oh and the garlic naan is to die for!

Located in the Grade I listed Queen Elizabeth Hall, beer and burgers are served at comfy looking booths that each come with their own TV and Nintendo. For early birds there’s the big breakfast club but for the lazy Sunday you can feast out on the main attraction – pretty much anything sandwiched between a bun with fries!

For a mix of traditional and contemporary flair try PanAm. Host of the 2008 MTV awards and official destination of the BBC Sports Personality after show parties, PanAm’s reputation is flying high. The former Granada studios building has been converted into a contemporary bar and restaurant dressed to impress the most glamorous of guests. PamAm’s stylish, relaxed atmosphere provides the perfect backdrop for dining with full bar offering a brilliant range of beers, wines and cocktails. Situated opposite the Arena, PanAm is the perfect end to a cultural night out.

Maritime Dining Rooms

If you’re hungry for history, why not take afternoon tea at Liverpool’s Merseyside Museum. Soak up the rich industrial heritage and enjoy the breathtaking view of Albert Docks whilst you tuck into a traditional British tea of freshly baked scones and homemade finger sandwiches. For growing boys and strapping lads, there is also a full lunch menu available with choices ranging from soup and risotto to good ole fish ‘n’ chips! Once your satisfyingly full, you can walk it all off on a tour of the museum…Yes, they even throw in free exercise – bargain!

P.S I’d recommend you get there early or ring ahead on the day – some dates in January are already fully booked!
