With the feel of a 1960s private members' club, Blades at Hush is an exclusive restaurant and whisky bar tucked away in a tranquil Mayfair courtyard with outdoor seating. Premium British flavours are served, along with fine whiskies from around the world, and traditional afternoon teas.

Luxuries like lobster and steak are the main focus of the Blades at Hush menu, with prime cuts available from both Angus and USDA beef, served with a selection of sauces, including the signature Blades whisky veal glaze. Whole Cornish lobster can be ordered grilled, tempura or thermidor, while indulgent sides include Aspen fries with parmesan and truffle oil, and creamed spinach with hollandaise and nutmeg.

The Hush at Blades whisky list is truly extensive, featuring Scottish malts from the highlands, lowlands, Speyside, and the islands. There are also Japanese varieties, American bourbons, and the restaurant's signature blend. Afternoon tea at Blades at Hush London includes treats like Earl Grey crème brûlée, and loose leaf teas from H. R. Higgins of Mayfair.

Offering private members' club exclusivity without the actual membership costs, Blades at Hush Mayfair is a shining example of traditional British sophistication. Bond Street Tube Station is 4 minutes' walk away.

It was a treat for my daughter's 19th birthday and it was a treat!! Lovely setting, extremely pleasant and friendly waiting staff. I thoroughly enjoyed both cocktails, just as well their was plenty of sandwiches to soak it up. Food excellent especially the open chicken and tarragon sandwich mmm lovely. Enormous teapots for plenty of tea, does get a bit cold towards the end though, maybe needed a top up of hot water. Just looking for an excuse to revisit.

Food very good, although service could have been better. Waiters seemed a bit rushed.

Having eaten here before and had a lovely meal, I was looking forward to the Thanksgiving dinner. Unfortunately on this occasion there seemed to be a real struggle with the fact that I'm vegetarian. Unusually these days there was no veggie main course option. The starter of macaroni cheese turned out to have a secret ingredient - bacon - and the lighting was so low that I only realised from the taste. For my main I was offered basically the turkey dinner without the turkey - i.e some potatoes and root vegetables. My friend enjoyed her meal and the cocktail was nice but I won't be rushing back.

It was a great dining experience. But the noise level was not hush-like.
