It is true that you get what you pay for. I was extremely disappointed. Firstly, we were packed in like sardines which left us with no privacy and difficulty moving between tables. This also made it noisy so we had to raise our voices as it was difficult to hear what we were saying. Secondly, we were seated upstairs where it was extremely hot, rather like being in a sweat box. The waiter smelt of stale sweat. I had to send the prawn starter back as the prawns were cold. One of my friends had the Meze the other had the spicy chicken skewers to start which they said were fine. We had to change our first bottle of wine as it did not smell or taste quite right. This was changed with ease. I had salmon and crayfish as a main. I believe the vegetables were not fresh and straight out of a frozen packet. The salmon was nothing special and the potatoes overcooked. My friends both had the mixed kebab which, in my opinion, looked like the best dish on the menu. I can't comment on the deserts as I didn't have any. This restaurant is not for me and I won't be returning.

As regular pre show diners we are delighted to have found Bistro 1 and add it to our list of venues. The meal was excellent value for money. It was well cooked with a good range of flavours and textures - both the falafel and fishcakes were crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and the rice served with the moussaka was perfect. The waiters were very attentive and the decor, particularly the lights, gives a a pleasant feel of the Mediterranean. I would certainly recommend Bistro 1 and recommend others to go. I also look forward to visiting their other outlets.
Four stars have only been given because I am comparing it with more expensive upmarket restaurants.

We were greeted as we arrived and taken directly to our table. The service was efficient, the food tasty but the coffee machine was unfortunately broken.

Two mums and two teenagers pre theatre dining. Bistro 1 always reliable I know exactly what to expect. Very tasty food, a very wide menu, excellent value for money. The staff are always friendly and helpful and most importantly always timely. this is so important when you just under an hour. Have been eating here and other Bistro 1s for the last 6 or more years and have never had anything but a good time. Highly recommended!

Comfortable place to sit and chat over a meal - but they do rush you out of there once you've paid. Meal was good, lacked presentation, but otherwise very tasty. Would go again if hanging out with a group of friends.

Had the 2 course lunch at Bistro 1 recently. Brilliant food, service fast as only had an hour before the show. Staff friendly and cost very reasonable for London. Luckily booked our table as was very busy when we arrived, so would reccommend doing that as a popular venue.
