This was our second visit on a Friday evening. Each time it has been full, noisy, atmospheric, warm and exciting. Food is really excellent quality, perfectly barbecued prime cuts of meat, fish, chicken etc, though the quanitiy on each skewer is quite modest. So you just get more - it soon adds up but with beers and wince, a bill of [$] for 4 for the quality of food was not bad at all

Went at probably the busiest time of the week (8pm Saturday night), but the service was unbelievably slow. We were there for 90 minutes and only got service a salad, 4 skewers and one drink each, and we ended up cancelling our last dish as we'd finished the previous one at least 20 mins before. At no point we were offered another drink, or apologised to for the delay. We even had to chase the waitress to pay a number of times - I felt like walking out without paying to be honest. And then I was patronised by the waitress, who asked whether this was my first visit (it wasn't), and then told me that another group had been waiting even longer for their food - that's nothing to do with me! I was glad service wasn't included on the bill as I would have had to ask to have it taken off. It was a shame as the food is really, really great and I probably will go back but maybe at a quieter time of the week.

This was a baffling experience! A word to the wise, make sure you specify how many skewers you are ordering. On the menu it says minimum order is 2 skewers of the same, so in our group we ordered 3 portions, expecting 2 each. Instead, we got 3 miniscule skewers between 3 of us! Other people in our group also had ordered different skewers and they got 2 each automatically, so service was pretty haphazard. To be fair, the Japanese food was very tasty, there just wasn't much of it! I mentioned the confusion to the Bincho Yakitori manager at the end and she gave us some complimentary skewers as an apology.

We dined pre theatre at 6. Great service and had the set dinner for [$]. Absolutely Fab food! Have it!

Bincho has become our go to place for post theatre dining. Open late, and with efficient yet friendly staff, you can have a quick meal trying a variety of dishes and still be home at a decent hour. Food is bite sized skewers grilled on a charcoal grill. From the safe like quail egg wrapped in pancetta, to the more challenging like tongue, or soft chicken bone. Their crispy chicken skin on a skewer is a must try. They also have a nice sake list. Sake is served using a glass in a wooden bowl, and over poured as a sign of generosity. Finish the sake in your glass, then pour what is left in the bowl in your glass and have another go. Love this place.
