Awarded a Michelin star, Benares brings the excitement and vibrancy of Indian cuisine to a chic, elegant setting in Mayfair, central London. A number of dining options are available at this Atul Kochhar restaurant, from the a la carte menu, to Benares sharing platters and pre-theatre set menus.

Benare's really is exceptionally good! This time we went on the 3 course set menu/free cookbook deal and we were impressed by the options available to choose from since set menus are so often inferior to what the restaurant is obviously capable of. The quail dish was divine for main and the chocolate chilli dessert beyond words! Service attentive and polite. We chose to have the three glass wine pairings with each course- slightly disappointed but I suppose not surprised to see the wines they served were the cheapest on their list of wines by the glass.....

As we booked it on a special deal I was really not expecting anything like it would normally be. How wrong was I. The ambience, staff, and food was just superb.
We had them set menu, out of choice and we were not disappointed.
It was Michelin star but tasted like them Indian restruarants I ate in when we lived in Asia.
I could fault nothing and included in our special offer we got a signed cook book of curries round the world.
    Would I go again, I can't wait.
    Loved it, loved it.

Great service from the waiting staff. Choices on the £35 menu were a little disappointing and I don't think they were a) worth the money and b) particular good showcase options for this restaurant. Although the food was nice It wasn't worth £35 per head in my opinion. And I felt the drinks were heavily overpriced - but I understand why because we were in Mayfair and it's a well known Michelin starred restaurant. We left a little disappointed with a big hole in our wallet for what we thought would be a fairly reasonably priced lunch. The cookbook is a nice addition though. If we were able to afford the a la carte one day, I'm sure our experience would be a lot better.

We booked through Bookatable 3 course set menu. On arrival the staff treated us like royalty, the most kind, attentive & knowledgeable we have ever experienced & we have spent time in many.
The food is the most fantastic we as a group have ever tasted and the decision to choose the pairing wines was so good as they complimented our dinner so perfectly!
We treat ourselves, as a group of 2 couples as much as we can as far as dining experiences are concerned. We've waited a long time to visit Benares and it wasn't only well worth the wait but the best we've ever eaten. The free signed cookbook and seeing Atul in the restaurant was a bonus but we are all returning for the tasting menu and an overnight stay to enjoy the cocktails too.
Thank you Benares! We ?? You!

We had lunch at Benares on 19th August, it was a wonderful experience. From the moment we entered we were made to feel welcome, the staff were attentive and very pleasant, particularly the sommelier who was charming. The food and wines were superb and beautifully presented.
