Great restaurant, great food. Only let down by the amount of time we waited on the table. Booked for 12pm. Didn't sit till 12.30 and lunch didn't come till 1pm. I was on a tight deadline with meetings at work so I felt I had to rush my lunch when it finally came. Would have liked to savour the food a bit more. Will go back though for dinner next time.

Was a lot noisier than we expected. Service has good. On the whole the food was very good, although it didn't blow us away. Disliked service charge being automatically added.

Benares is amazing without doubt the best Indian I have ever had in fact it's probably the best food I've ever had and me and my wife have been to some incredible restaurants, but Benares without doubt tops the lot. The whole chicken tikka sharer is incredible the texture of the chicken was so soft and juicy with side dishes of puree spinach masala new potatoes and a delicious sauce it truly is fine dining at its best! It was our 1st time there and will certainly be going back! Prices are what you expect from the west end but you pay for what you get and we certainly got our moneys worth!!!

Interesting long cocktail- very enjoyable. Very attentive staff- sometimes a little OTT. During our starter we had four different people coming to check that everythng was ok!
Starter soft shelled crab. Lovely spices etc but I couldnt taste the crab at all as the flavour was lost under the spicing. My partne had scallops , which he said were very good.
We had tandoori chicken for main. Lovely deep , smoky taste and sauce accompanying also very good. Extremely large portion so cou,dnt finish mine.

Fantastic experience, food was incredible, and equally as good was the service. We chose the tasting menu, and was not disappointed, with each course full of flavour, extremely delicious.
