We both chose the Sunday roast - my husband had chicken and I had beef and we both enjoyed our meal. The apple and blackberry crumble with custard was delicious! The restaurant itself needs ti be updated - looks tired with no Atmosphere and the decor is not very welcoming.

An elegant country hotel dating back to 1696, The Bell Tewkesbury is packed with original features. Find hearty, seasonal dishes, alongside fine wines and a host of real ales.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, The Bell menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at The Bell pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

This hotel is part of Old English Inns chain so has a set menu. That said there is a good choice and at the weekend they offer a value menu which is good value for money with many main courses under £6.00.They also allow you to alternate between menus for your starter, main and sweet which is good. The staff are young and inexperienced however they are attentive. The experience is value for money and we now regularly dine there on a Saturday in preference to the local Wetherspoon establishment which is just too noisy when you wish to dine out.

We had a delightful meal in the Bell at Tewkesbury. It is a Tudor building with beams and a friendly, cosy atmosphere. The service was excellent, the plates were warm the food was nicely cooked and delivered hot. All in all it was an extremely pleasant place to eat and the bill didn't bring tears to the eyes. We will be eating there again.
