With an inviting glass façade, chefs at Beijing Dumpling create Chinese food in full view of the bustle outside. In the heart of Chinatown, traditional dishes contrast with modern décor to form a vibrant, authentic restaurant.

The Beijing Dumpling menu offers traditional starters like satay chicken, and crispy duck with pancakes, as well as a house speciality befitting of the restaurant’s name: a range of meat, fish and vegetarian dumplings. Aromatic mains include chicken with cashew nuts, pepper salted pork chops and braised bean curd with Chinese mushrooms.

Classic noodle and rice dishes are on offer, as well as the enticing Indonesian-style fried rice and Malaysian-style fried ho fun. Even the drinks menu is exotic, with traditional Chinese teas being joined by a fresh soya bean drink and a sugar cane root drink. The décor is modern, the large glass windows revealing the wooden-panelled walls and ambient low lighting behind.

Beijing Dumpling in London is a 2-minute walk from Leicester Square Tube Station.

I would not recommend this restaurant. The staff is extremely unfriendly, we didn't feel welcomed at all. Moreover, the only thing I can recommend foodwise are the dumplings. Everything else didn't taste well.

Great restaurant. Waiting staff helped us with our choices to ensure we didn't order too much (easily done). The noodles were fantastic. Looking forward to returning

If you're planning to dine here after 7pm I recommend that you book a table otherwise you'll typically have to wait 45mins for a table. I've been here several times and always recommend it to friends and visitors coming to London. Beijing Dumpling offers delicious, fresh, handmade dumplings that are full of flavour and reasonably priced. My personal favourites are the spicy pork xiao long bao and chicken dumplings in soup. The dumplings in soup are a little thick but very filling if you're not going to order many mains. Moving onto the mains, their firecracker chicken is a winner and beautifully presented, enoki mushroom dish has a good mix, salt and pepper prawns is a great portion size and well seasoned, and their friend udon noodles dishes are delicious. Their fried chicken noodle dish is on the small side (think noodles like yakisoba) and too salty for my taste. On the service, I've been there when it's quiet and busy, I think there's room for improvement and staff could be more tentative (and more smiley/ happy looking) - better level of service would make me give more tips. Overall, Beijing Dumplings is definitely a restaurant to eat at when in China Town.

The food here is amazing! Dumplings are great, really good quality for London!! These guys are super packed all the time but food quality doesn't change and it comes out really quickly too! We had various pork, chicken and crab dumplings, fried dumplings, salt and pepper prawn and the beef ho fun - everything was divine and we left stuffed! Only thing I would complain about here is the service, could be because they're so busy, but the service is pretty bad. They forget things and try to rush you out.
