Our party of 4 first evening visit to Beast by Night, absolutely fantastic. Lovely staff/service/atmosphere and even better, the food. One of the best meals we've had in a very, very long time. Highly recommended and will defiantly be dining again

I was recommended by a colleague to try the restaurant for a family birthday meal. Very nice eating environment and efficient welcome. Initially the order was taken and Starters were fantastic. The main steaks arrived and after a little confusion and assistance from a superior the waitress served us 4 gorgeous meals.
Unfortunately for our evening at this point the service went down hill. The restaurant was not busy but I had to ask for our table to be cleared and the waitress asked if we would like to view the dessert menu which we did and she returned with them. From this point we waited 20mins for someone to return. I felt we were forgotten about and the staff seemed more interested in clearing up rather than attending to customers. So after waiting this time we had gone off the idea of our 4 desserts and I asked for the bill.
Then after another 10mins the same waitress returned and asked if we had chosen our desserts. She did not seem to have an idea what was going on. The bill eventually arrived I paid and left. Disappointed.

A fantastic evening out with friends. The table is yours for the evening so you don't feel rushed at all. Very attentive service from Tom, India and Natasha. Would highly recommend this place for fantastic food and service.

Disappointed. Waited over am hour for what was named a signature dish. When it came it was mostly fat and expensive. Won't be going back.

My husband and I attended last Thursday evening for a meal , we did have a little bit of a blip with our order so the food arrived later than it should , however the food was delicious and well presented and a free drink and fantastically-delightful-dessert more than compensated for the delay . We will definitely be going again .

Accommodation - impressive converted barn - great space to dine in. Food - rib eye steak was cooked as requested, very tasty, excellent quality. The onion rings, tomato, mushroom and chips that accompanied the steak were spot on although I didn't see the point of piling on a portion of rocket leaves. My wife had the goats cheese cheesecake which she didn't like - too much going on on the plate - food seemed to be thrown around with little order to where it went. Not really a cheesecake - the potato rostis were over done almost burnt. Starters - we both had scallops; 3 scallops that were okay but why the two big chunks of black pudding that overpowered the scallops. Plus the black pudding had sultanas in it; I've never had sultanas in black pudding before and don't like them so that put me off; i accept that could be the chef's own version of black pudding - perhaps that could be clear on the menu? Service - in general the waiters were professional however it took too long between finishing our starters and receiving our main meal - we were waiting 30 - 45 minutes and then had to prompt the staff and ask where the mains were. We ordered desserts but they never arrived; we had to have them removed from the bill when we left. Drinks - they have a small selection of real ales and craft beers - that was okay but they had been kept in the fridge - therefore far too cold for real ales and craft beers - they should be kept around 12 degrees not cold from the fridge - I advised the staff re that point.

The experience was excellent. Only one small comment; We had older people with us, who could have benefited from smaller portions. Suggest a smaller portion option.
