Our experience here was 10/10. It was our first time but we it had been recommended to us. The service was extremely good and food amazing! There was 10 of us so the wait on food was a little long but apart from that It was perfect.

Home of the phenomenal Black Rock grill, where gourmet meats are cooked on table-top volcanic rocks specially sourced from Africa, Barbacoa is one of Merseyside’s best-loved dining and entertainment destinations. An acclaimed, family-run restaurant since its opening back in 1979, the bar serves an array of Italian favourites and prime meat cuts.

From stone-baked pizzas to American-style hot dogs, the Barbacoa menu offers an impressive range of freshly-prepared dishes. The mixed stone grill provides a delicious sample of the lava rock-cooked cuts available, and brave diners can attempt the eye-wateringly spicy ‘Psycho Burger’, topped with chilli cheese, jalapeños and hot sauces.

Situated in the beautifully scenic Crosby area of Liverpool, Barbacoa also plays host to a variety of musical acts throughout the week. Guests can enjoy superb evening entertainment while sipping one of the many beers, wines or signature cocktails from the extensive drinks list.

Offering innovatively-prepared international cuisine, Barbacoa is just an 8-minute walk from Blundellsands & Crosby Rail Station.

Always enjoy eating at La Barbacoa - the steaks are really good particularly as you can cook them yourself on the hot rocks. Great atmosphere, good service and excellent value for money.

We had a lovely evening in the restaurant for dinner. The staff we found very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious we had steak on the volcanic rock which we could cook to our liking. I would recommend and we will visit again.

I have eaten in the Barbacoa a lot over the past few years and have never had a problem, but recently things seem to have gone downhill in the Restaurant, the service is really poor, although the staff are lovely I have to say. The food has always been nice, but recently my daughter went there and as they had no rump steak left she had to pay extra for the sirloin steak? surely it wasn't her fault that they had no rump steak left? I would have thought that as a gesture of goodwill they would have given her the sirloin steak anyway? which is what any other restaurant would have done! So all in all, will I visit here again? Im not sure, maybe I will try it once more, but this has been a few times over the last few months now that Ive had a bad experience here, and I always loved the food and the atmosphere in the Restaurant but all that seems to have disappeared now, which is an absolute shame. The one good thing about this Restaurant is the Male waiter/assistant Manager, not sure of his name, but he is lovely and an absolute credit to the Barbacoa. The meals in the bar at 2 for £12.00 are really good value, I wouldn't hesitate to eat in the bar area, just not the Restaurant which is a shame because I really did love it here and the outside gardens are lovely in the Summer.

Delicious steak served on hot stone. Salad to accompany and asparagus. Service good. Friendly staff. Only comment is its a shame they use thick school dinner type glasses to serve gin and tonic in. Nicer glasses would be better.
