Really well presented, well cooked food, rich in flavour. Just a shame most of the menu wasn't available. The service was really out of whack with the menu and quality of the food. It was amateurish and uncomfortable. She was a really nice friendly girl but it felt like she didn't know what she was doing. Despite my booking AND the restaurant being empty she said she had no record of the booking. We felt uncomfortable and I asked if she wanted to see the email. She said we could have lunch anyway. No water was offered at any time. We had to ask for a wine menu and it was only when we ordered that she told us (as each item was requested) that most of the menu was unavailable. She also forgot the order (only 2 of us!) and had to come back and check as one of the dishes was also not available. A bit later another waitress appeared and they seemed to have a disagreement about our booking in front of us. She really was sweet and smiley and nice but the service was more macdonalds than a restaurant with an ambitious menu and good food deserves. I have said below I'd recommend but I'd also warn them about the service

We booked for a special 75th birthday lunch with family. On arrival, no one greeted us & we had to go to the bar to ask about our booking. They didn't have a record of it in the manual diary although the waitress was pleasant & friendly & showed us to a choice of tables. We noticed a lot of crumbs on the chairs & under the table as we sat down. The food was very good & we loved the views of the countryside plus the staff were happy & friendly but not well trained or organised.

A very nice, open, light restaurant with lovely views over the golf course. Food was very nicely presented and good quality. Service was a bit erratic, I think we had 4 people serve us over the course of our meal but as we were the first there (at 1.30 pm) and the rom gradually filled up with a birthday party, two baby showers and a small group, the staff were added as needed. Will try the Sunday buffet sometime.

Was surprised there was not much selection, and a lot of the trays were empty and we needed to ask to be replenished. Staff as always were happy to help and pleasant.

The food was OK, nothing special, as we had booked for the carvery and were told the booking didn't exist on arrival, we had to choose from the menu in the restaurant so it wasn't the sort of meal we had been looking forward to.

Three of us ate lunch here yesterday (8 April) and everything was delicious, hot and well presented. I had the tuna salad and it was perfection! One incorrect order was brought out, but the correct order was cooked quickly and did not spoil our experience.

Will not be returning which is a shame. My 60th birthday a disaster. When the food came cold returned. My mother in law waited for over an hour for scrambled egg & smoked salmon. Belly pork nobody could eat.

Very sorry to say my friends and I were disappointed in our Easter Monday lunch. One of the disappointments was no steak available ! Surely this is a basic item to have plenty of at any time! Wont list any more as the saving grace was a good reduction on the total bill and the help with one of my friends who became extremely unwell due to his medical condition - so many thanks for the saving graces!

Main courses were very good and well presented, deserts a bit basic. Great location and room. Servers were pleasant but service was slow and we needed to chase them sometimes.
