One word of advice if you go there for breakfast ....the Half Monty will be sufficient for most people. We went for the Full Monty and were totally stuffed. Lovely food. Wonderfully cooked (as usual!). Cannot praise them highly enough!

Nice place been before but disappointing this time. We had sharing platter to start and the Scotch egg was nothing like what we had before. We all had the skewers to follow two butchers selections, one jerk chicken and one king prawns. All were overcooked and a bit tasteless. The prawns were rubbery and didn't taste very nice. The sweets were OK though my crumble was only lukewarm, very little custard and lumpy!

We ate at Banners for the first time yesterday to celebrate my birthday. 3 of the group had steaks which were very good. My daughter and I had the mixed scewers, unfortunately these were disappointing, The meats were very dry over cooked and chewy. I will go back again as I hoping this was a one off

Awesome breakfast as always! Friendly staff and very accommodating too. All their breakfasts are top quality meat & the eggs are amazingly fresh. Thoroughly recommend

We weren't told they hadn't got a drinks licence, so didn't take any drinks with us. Informal settings, plain decor. Service excellent. Starters - pate, nice but not much taste, posh prawn cocktail, not bad. Fillet steak beautiful and tasty, with choice of sauces included in the price. Accompanied by potatoes, tomato and a small. mushroom. Pork Tenderloin was a bit stringy, nice veg to accompany. Deserts creme brulle, very nice. Overall enjoyable meal, will come again and bring own booze next time

Excellent food and great service as always. I've recommended Banners to friends who've not been disappointed and have returned with their friends. Friendly attentive staff. The hanging skewers are a firm favourite. Good dessert menu choice also.

We have eaten at Banners on several occasions and have always been pleased with the service and meals. However this was our first experience of Sunday lunch and I have to say we did not enjoy either. The young lady who served us, whilst polite, leant fully across the table in front of my husband (he had to lean backwards to get out of the way), rather than going around the side to serve my plate of food. Obviously it was the end of service, the beef was overcooked (looked and tasted as though it had been kept heated for too long) as were the Yorkshire puddings. Also, the prawn cocktail is described as 'posh' prawn cocktail and it certainly wasn't that! I accept that there is only so much that can be done with the humble prawn cocktail, however putting two king prawns on the top - does not make it 'posh'. It could also have been served with some nice bread, however it was served with two slices (four halves) of wholemeal bread which had butter on both sides, and yet still managed to be dry. The whole presentation of the dish was completely unappealing.

I am a little sad to be giving this feedback, as our previous experiences were very enjoyable.

    Kind regards

    Debbie Field
