The food and wine were excellent. The service was very good. I would certainly dine at Bacco again.

A stone’s throw away from Russell Square & the British Museum, Bacco Restaurant is a classic Italian restaurant & wine bar with a sheltered al fresco courtyard. Mixing a passion for traditional cuisine with a contemporary aesthetic, it is an elegant retreat in buzzy central London.

With a wine list featuring bins from Italy’s finest producing regions, the Bacco menu promises a feast of flavours & textures, such as pumpkin-filled ravioli with sage, butter & parmesan, sea bass with braised fennel, olives, potatoes & pine nuts, and rabbit bruschetta with padron chilli pepper & parmesan.

For dessert, try the creamy cheesecake with poached plums, or the chocolate mousse with crispy almonds & pistachio ice cream. Bacco is lined with wooden wall panels in chocolate & coffee-brown tones, and decked out with high-backed leather chairs, and crisp white tablecloths.

Bacco Restaurant in Holborn is a 5-minute walk from Holborn Tube Station. Chancery Lane Tube Station is just a 6-minute walk away.

The food was good but not superb. We like rather experimental food so maybe for more traditional eaters this would be judged superb.

The service was really excellent and pleasant. The decor very good.

Good Italian restaurant. Stylish but comfortable. Charming staff. Food a bit hit and miss. Wine list disappointing: lower priced end is lacking decent choice.

This is a very nice restaurant and service and food are very good. A little bit off the beaten track but not difficult to get to from Holborn.
