First time at Bacchus but definitely not the last. Wonderful food, nicely presented, excellent service and reasonably priced.

Bacchus in Cheshire offers superbly presented modern British food with a hint of European. Offsetting the understated, classic, guests can head to the Bacchus champagne bar for a flute of luxurious bubbles.

The Bacchus menu offers a tantalising array of dishes, and prides itself on sourcing its produce locally wherever possible. Starters vary from warming cream of mussels, leek and parsley soup, to lobster for those who want a treat. Surf and turf, and belly and loin of suckling pig with black pudding mash head up the main courses, bolstered by the tempting butcher’s selection. Indulge in lamb rack, beef fillet, peppered venison loin or Scotch eggs, all delicately arranged together with individual sauces, chips and market vegetables.

The puddings are no less exciting, with gluten-free gin and tonic cake served with gin and tonic sorbet as a must-try-dish. A vegetarian menu is available on request at Bacchus restaurant, as is a tasting menu for those looking to sample a plethora of flavours.

Set in a picturesque Cheshire village, Bacchus is found 7 minutes’ walk from Prestbury Train Station.

a very pleasant evening Dinner with friends, good service, excellent food, a very good " set menu " to choose from.
only concern was the condition of the Gents Toilets, were not clean, should be checked during the evening service.

Arrived at 7.30 for a 7.45 booking and immediately shown to our table. Ordered a very pleasant Riesling and chose our meal. The food was brilliant with the Lobster Ravioli starter being the standout for me and the Halibut and Scallops main meal for my wife being fabulous. The whole meal was well presented with a very professional and happy staff looking after us. Will not hesitate in returning.

One of the best restaurants in Cheshire. The food was exceptionally good, the leg of lamb was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious, and the waiter service first-class.

My meal was fantastic. My wife's fillet steak wasn't great (tough/dry) and we let our server know. The complaint was handled well and we were very surprised / greatful film that the charge for the steak was taken off the bill. Would certainly visit again if we are in the area. One comment about the beer selection. In a modern restaurant I would expect to see some craft or real ales on offer in addition to the standard lagers and old speckled hen.

Excellent meal on a very busy Saturday evening. Amuse Booch of Smoked Haddock mini fish cake was delicious. Filet Steak with peppercorn sauce was the best steak I have ever eaten in a recent. Cooked to perfection, moist, succulent and very tasty with a perfectly balanced sauce (not to peppery). Starters were also superb. Only downside was the long gap between starter and main ( do to the restaurant being full and having a large party upstairs). Although the staff apologised and offered a complimentary interim course of soup the delay was very long. Our 2nd visit to Bacchus and have been very impressed by the food on both occasions. The prices are a little high, more like London prices than Prestbury but the quality is very high.
