Bacchus in Cheshire offers superbly presented modern British food with a hint of European. Offsetting the understated, classic, guests can head to the Bacchus champagne bar for a flute of luxurious bubbles.

The Bacchus menu offers a tantalising array of dishes, and prides itself on sourcing its produce locally wherever possible. Starters vary from warming cream of mussels, leek and parsley soup, to lobster for those who want a treat. Surf and turf, and belly and loin of suckling pig with black pudding mash head up the main courses, bolstered by the tempting butcher’s selection. Indulge in lamb rack, beef fillet, peppered venison loin or Scotch eggs, all delicately arranged together with individual sauces, chips and market vegetables.

The puddings are no less exciting, with gluten-free gin and tonic cake served with gin and tonic sorbet as a must-try-dish. A vegetarian menu is available on request at Bacchus restaurant, as is a tasting menu for those looking to sample a plethora of flavours.

Set in a picturesque Cheshire village, Bacchus is found 7 minutes’ walk from Prestbury Train Station.

Honestly. poor value for money. There is little atmosphere to speak of (e.g. pot lights are not cozy, there was little colour in the decor, not much in the way of greenery), the acoustics are conducive to amplifying the sounds of noisy diners (on the face of it there is little to absorb sound), the light over the table shone into my wife's eyes, and the service needed work. The food (duck) was good but I have had many better meals on England for less.

My husband and myself have been to Bacchus a few times - we go for special occasions. We have enjoyed it each time. The food is lovely, the service friendly and polite, the restaurant is pleasant and intimate and the wine list extensive. Also, although located in the rather exclusive village of Prestbury, Bacchus is in no way pretentious so everyone can feel comfortable.
The dinner menu for 2/3 courses with a set price (Mon -Thurs) is exceptionally good value.
I would thoroughly recommend a visit. We will certainly be returning.

We booked Bacchus for lunch to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. The whole experience was fabulous; very friendly and professional staff and service, excellent food and great value for money. What's not to like!

The staff were attentive and friendly and the restaurant had a pleasant ambience. However, we felt that the main courses were a little uninspiring and overpriced. The food that we ordered was nicely presented and cooked well but was nothing special.

I took my wife for a special lunch it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary and we had a fantastic experience . The food was first class, really flavoursome and the staff literally could not not do enough for us - including cooking me a special dessert due to my various food allergies (in fact they changed the main course I had too!). The service was equally of a high standard, the attention to detail and the level of interaction was just right. I would happily recommend them, based on our lunch we will certainly be going again - thank you
