With stunning views over London from its 7th-floor rooftop garden setting, Babylon at The Roof Gardens is a chic restaurant serving delicious cuisine and cocktails, 100 feet above Kensington High Street.

Just around the corner from High Street Kensington Tube Station and surrounded by trendy shops, Babylon is a splendid restaurant for families (children are welcome), couples seeking a romantic meal, friends on a shopping spree, and business colleagues.

The frequently changing menu of classic and contemporary British dishes makes for an eclectic selection, and the Babylon Terrace always entices guests to dine al fresco in the summer months. A seafood and champagne bar boasts glorious panoramic views of the city in the summer, and in the winter months cosy up under blankets on the terrace. Babylon in Kensington also offers a selection of baked cheeses and delicious fresh breads.

Private dining areas are also available, for celebrating special occasions, or just enjoying a more intimate meal. Live jazz music accompanies the dinner service on Tuesday nights at Babylon in London.

Diners are welcome to explore The Roof Gardens on the 6th floor, however the gardens are often hired for private events so we strongly recommend you phone ahead.

I took my wife there to celebrate our anniversary and her birthday.
We could not fault the dinner, however we found one of the waiter to be very abrupt to our surprise.
They put us on a table at the back of the restaurant away from the main dining area.
After having advised them of our occasion we were not presented with any compliments eg. 1 glass of bubbly as a gesture but a minature cup cake with a candle. I would not recommend this restaurant to celebrate such an event.
Last year we dined at the oxo, they made a big deal of of celebration which made our occasion feel very special.

Gardens are beautiful, restaurant decor good. Little disappointed with baby chicken, meat did not just come of the bone and in fact it was fatty. I had cheese board to finish but no fruit bread came with it! Cocktails were OK but not great. Again service was ok but slow, i asked for the cocktail menu which came quick enough but then no one came back to take an order. Staff were pleasant enough there just didn,t seem to be enough of them. I had been here before and loved it so was coming back for a special birthday with friends, overall not the great experience I was hoping for. Just OK!

Having heard from friends that Babylon is an oasis in the London sky, I booked a table to share with my sister for her birthday celebration. We enjoyed every minute of our lunchtime experience. The restaurant is light, bright and airy, being surrounded by trees and the London skyline. The food was delicious, the service unobtrusive yet attentive and unhurried. The set lunch gave us four choices for each course, we chose the mushroom velouté with smoked Parmesan and a roasted Jerusalem artichoke for starter, followed by hake with fennel. The flavours were wonderful and portion sizes generous. In fact we had to share a delicious apple dessert!! Sadly the gardens were closed due to a private function - it's worth phoning to check - but we were able to wander along the balcony to view the gardens, stream and flamingos. We will be going back!

My boyfrriend and I had a drink in babylon outside area and then had dinner. Staff were really friendly, a bit slow to get our first drink. Loved the nibbles and bread you get pre dinner, lovely looking place, lovely romantic lighting, food was lovely. We were meant to get a glass of fizz each which was confirmed via email on booking, however i was dissapointed i had to say something as the staff charged us for these drinks and the waiter had to speak with the manager - could have done without the fuss. Also dissapointed we couldn't see the gardens but I knew this might happen before our arrival. Overall, really nice but not spectacular.
