With stunning views over London from its 7th-floor rooftop garden setting, Babylon at The Roof Gardens is a chic restaurant serving delicious cuisine and cocktails, 100 feet above Kensington High Street.

Just around the corner from High Street Kensington Tube Station and surrounded by trendy shops, Babylon is a splendid restaurant for families (children are welcome), couples seeking a romantic meal, friends on a shopping spree, and business colleagues.

The frequently changing menu of classic and contemporary British dishes makes for an eclectic selection, and the Babylon Terrace always entices guests to dine al fresco in the summer months. A seafood and champagne bar boasts glorious panoramic views of the city in the summer, and in the winter months cosy up under blankets on the terrace. Babylon in Kensington also offers a selection of baked cheeses and delicious fresh breads.

Private dining areas are also available, for celebrating special occasions, or just enjoying a more intimate meal. Live jazz music accompanies the dinner service on Tuesday nights at Babylon in London.

Diners are welcome to explore The Roof Gardens on the 6th floor, however the gardens are often hired for private events so we strongly recommend you phone ahead.

The view from the restaurant is beautiful and the place itself, on the 7th floor is beautifully kept. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, the food delicious and beautifully displayed. There is great attention to detail and dining was very good value for a three course meal offering unique, interesting and tasty recipes

Service and food very good, and with Bookatable deal reasonably priced. Recommend seeing roof-garden complete with flamingoes!

The food was excellent. I chose mushrooms velouté (soup topped with parmesan foam and crispy bacon cubes), slow-cooked pork collar (very tender and perfectly cooked, served on a bed of striped vegetables with a sweet sauce) and pain d'epices with ice cream (delicious and beautifully presented - I would have just paired it with an ice cream flavour different from lemon...).

The service was as you would expect in a setting like that, I didn't like the fact that we were asked 50+ times if the food was good - often interrupting the conversation.

I would recommend and I will definitely go again.

The setting is outstanding, the service is very good, but the food is unimpressive. The chef needs a cookbook.
I compared our experience at the Babylon with a friend and she had the same opinion. For the setting, it is well worth a visit, but the food is disappointing. So that is how I would word my recommendation.

We were unfortunately overall disappointed with this restaurant. It is a fairly expensive fixed menu £40 for 2 courses and sadly the quality of the food was nothing to rave about. Had the food been amazing then we would not have been worried about the price. The cocktails came watered down. The staff were very accommodating and quickly reordered the drinks and gave us a free Calvados for the issues with the meal. But sadly we will not be visiting again. We also did not get offered to visit the gardens which may have made up for the evening.
