With stunning views over London from its 7th-floor rooftop garden setting, Babylon at The Roof Gardens is a chic restaurant serving delicious cuisine and cocktails, 100 feet above Kensington High Street.
The award-winning food on the Babylon menu is best described as contemporary British and dishes change regularly to ensure only the freshest seasonal ingredients are used. The heated Babylon terrace offers a tranquil spot for cocktails.
The frequently changing menu of classic and contemporary British dishes makes for an eclectic selection, and the Babylon Terrace always entices guests to dine al fresco in the summer months. A seafood and champagne bar boasts glorious panoramic views of the city in the summer, and in the winter months cosy up under blankets on the terrace. Babylon in Kensington also offers a selection of baked cheeses and delicious fresh breads.
Private dining areas are also available at Babylon in London. The private dining room welcomes up to 12 guests, with its own terrace overlooking the resident flamingos. For larger groups of up to 30 guests, a stylish semi-private area can be booked, and Babylon can also be hired exclusively for dinner and cocktail receptions of up to 120 guests.
Diners are welcome to explore The Roof Gardens on the 6th floor, however the gardens are often hired for private events so it is recommended that you phone ahead.

Lovely restaurant. Excellent food and service. Good price too. Shame we couldn't get to see the roof gardens and pink flamingos but it was booked by a private party.

My friend and I chose the two course set menu. We ordered the main and dessert which should have come to £24 each but later upon checking the bill it appears that we not only paid for the two course set menu, but we were also charged separately for the dessert.
Unfortunately we had already left the restaurant when we realised.
Another point I would like to raise is that when the booking was made in August, I informed the restaurant of my Gluten Free dietary needs. I was offered gluten free bread with my main course and with the dessert. I feel that more effort could have been made to provide a gluten free alternative to accompany the cheese board.

We went to the Royal Garden Hotel to book the roof garden restaurant only to learn that it is closed. There we learned about the 'Babylon at The Roof Gardens' We went back to the hotel and googled the restaurant. Then we booked on line. Very easy to do and had an immediate confirmation via e-mail. We arrived for lunch but first had lovely cocktails overlooking the garden and London. The sun shone. It was beautiful. We enjoyed a delicious lunch with a very old friend. We have been living in Colorado USA for over 25 years and only get to London about once a year. This restaurant was new to us but we had a great experience. Really good staff and service. We'll be back again I'm sure.

Wonderful meal for my husbands birthday. He was pleased to see the flamingos. Food and service were great. A birthday dessert with a candle was a lovely touch.

Poor service for which I paid £52.Had eaten something there that kept me in a loo whole day yesterday.I am still recovering from it today. My husband felt the same .The rest of the party is probably polite to complain as we paid for dinner

Crowdy, loud, good but expensive food.

Lovely welcoming staff, they were very helpful and just the right amount of attentiveness. Service really was excellent. Now the food, not so happy about that, so if you are a foodie this probably is not the place to go. The seafood platter was not as fresh as I would have liked. Lots of little bags were opened and the seafood arranged on a platter but both the crab and the lobster were tasteless and dry. The rock oysters were poor quality and very gritty with a lot of broken shell in. The main courses were of tiny proportions which I personally do not mind, but a chap would feel quite cheated, also all our mains were only just warm and on cold plates which to me is unforgivable.I had pork medallions which were tender but overcooked and served in a thick corn chowder type sauce, which was very sweet and sickly, other mains were mackerel with gnocci, also cold and not fresh fish, so rather disappointing from the food point of view. This is not a cheap lunch and I feel they need to freshen up the food and MAKE IT HOT.
