Drawing inspiration from trendy New York cicchetti-style restaurants, familial-style dining is perfected at Assaggetti. An array of small Italian sharing plates and light bites are crafted with Italian passion.

Magnificent and chic, Assaggetti Haymarket features a state-of-the-art grand glass chandelier, chic leather booth seating and vintage-style mirrors. There is relaxed counter stool dining at Assaggetti London or formal dining in the contemporary restaurant. Bright, modern Assaggetti is set across 2 floors and exudes a lively buzz in the dining room, which has large oak tables and an earthy colour palette.

Handmade spaghettoni and duck ragù feature on the Assaggetti menu, alongside rustic dishes like fresh black risotto with cuttlefish or spinach and ricotta pizzettine. Assaggetti presents sumptuous Italian dessert classics like creamy tiramisu or wild berry panna cotta.

A vibrant West End restaurant, Assaggetti restaurant is just next to Theatre Royal Haymarket. Picadilly Circus Tube Station is just a 4-minute walk away.

Lovely food on their pre-theatre menu and staff understood our deadline to leave. We ate downstairs which is a little sterile but OK.

Mmmmm fried courgettes - a triumph

Loved the idea of Italian tapas and sure enough this place didn't disappoint; the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. You can get a good selection for just £10 per person (+ drinks) so it's excellent value. The only thing I would have changed was the atmosphere as it was virtually empty when we dined here.

For a pre-theatre meal this is ideal. Quick service. Plenty of choice. Good quality dishes and very interesting portion options. Wines aren't especially good value but the food is.

Dined early after matinee theatre. Not crowded. Good choice and range of dishes, well explained and cooked. Friendly atmosphere.

Good for mixed group get to gethers - service is good - staff came round a few time to check on us - shame it is let down by the food - crab pasta was dry, small dish of liver (was really really small). Salads, ravioi, desserts were nice ! Excellent location for a non fussy group. Not a venue for foodies - they ll perfer to cook at home.
