Drawing inspiration from trendy New York cicchetti-style restaurants, familial-style dining is perfected at Assaggetti. An array of small Italian sharing plates and light bites are crafted with Italian passion.

Magnificent and chic, Assaggetti Haymarket features a state-of-the-art grand glass chandelier, chic leather booth seating and vintage-style mirrors. There is relaxed counter stool dining at Assaggetti London or formal dining in the contemporary restaurant. Bright, modern Assaggetti is set across 2 floors and exudes a lively buzz in the dining room, which has large oak tables and an earthy colour palette.

Handmade spaghettoni and duck ragù feature on the Assaggetti menu, alongside rustic dishes like fresh black risotto with cuttlefish or spinach and ricotta pizzettine. Assaggetti presents sumptuous Italian dessert classics like creamy tiramisu or wild berry panna cotta.

A vibrant West End restaurant, Assaggetti restaurant is just next to Theatre Royal Haymarket. Picadilly Circus Tube Station is just a 4-minute walk away.

We booked online via book a table and got immediate confirmation. Restaurant is great. Italian senior-waiters are funny.
Love the olives for starters. So far all dishes were great. Also good as pre Theatre dinner.

Friendly helpful and efficient staff. The food was the best Italian I have found in England. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the deserts fantastic. I look forward to going back!

Friendly waitress, ambiance was nice. Good job we'd booked as very busy.
The mains were incredibly small, more like starter size. The fish came as it was, if you wanted chips , salad or potatoes you had to order as an extra. Which then made the main pretty expensive. Felt a bit short changed, probably wouldn't return

Very limited wine selection - only one red available at £36.50. It was not offered at the lower house red price.

It looked like a nice place but our table was in a kind of corridor by the staircase which wasn't ideal. The noise level was fine - this is something important to the over 50s! The service was good. My nephew and I chose the smallest sized glass of wine (as it was pre-theatre) and this was 'free poured' by a waitress who came around with a bottle. In the large glasses the measure of wine looked no more than 3 or 4 tablespoons! It didn't seem right. I was assured this was the correct measure - my advice would be to serve the small sized glass of wine in a small glass so it didn't look so insufficient! The food portion sizes weren't very big and presentation was basic - perhaps they were going for a rustic look but it didn't present very well. The food was very flavoursome. My nephew also chose a dessert and this was also rather small. Note, downstairs was nicer than upstairs. Overall the feeling I came away with was that it wasn't good value for money. I personally wouldn't return when there is so much competition all around.

I chose this restaurant because of its closeness to the theatre, staff were pleasant, restaurant was busy, they took our drink and food order together and we were surprised at how quickly the food arrived unfortunately we still didn't have our drinks. I think they should make sure that the customer receives their drinks first. Only other issue was that every time someone came into the restaurant the cold wind came in along with them so the food didn't stay hot for very long.
